Gombe State is a state in northeastern Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by the states of Borno for 93 km in the vicinity of Gongola River and Lake Dadin Kowa and Yobe in the vicinity of Gongola River for 140 km, to the south by Taraba State for 58 km, to the southeast by Adamawa State for 95 km, and to the west by Bauchi State for 277 km. Bauchi is a city in northeast Nigeria, the Administrative center of Bauchi State, of the Bauchi Local Government Area within that State, and of the traditional Bauchi Emirate. It is located on the northern edge of the Jos Plateau, at an elevation of 616 m. The Local Government Area covers an area of 3,687 km2 and had a population of 493,810 in 2006.
Bauchi State is a state in the North-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Kafanchan is a town located in the southern part of Kaduna State, Nigeria. The town owes much of its development to the railway development in the area. The railway is situated at a particular junction of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) station built in 1927. The Bauchi Prison break was an attack on the federal prison in the North-Eastern Nigerian city of Bauchi, in which members of Boko Haram released 721 prisoners. The attack occurred on 7 September 2010, and was carried out by approximately 50 gunmen. Of the 721 prisoners who escaped, as many as 150 were affiliated with the terrorist group Boko Haram. The Bauchi prison break was part of a broader escalation of Boko Haram activity, that escalation served as retaliation for the death of one of the group's primary leaders. Following this, Boko Haram has staged multiple subsequent attacks on government and religious targets in Bauchi state.
Ibrahim Adamu Gumba is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator for the Bauchi South constituency of Bauchi State, Nigeria in the April 2011 national elections. He ran on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket.
The Bauchi 2019 Gubernatorial Election was held on 9 March 2019 and concluded on 25 March 2019. The incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad has lost to the PDP Bala Muhammed in the 2019 Bauch state Governorship election. Mr Bala Mohammed, the former minister of FCT, polled a total votes of 515,113 votes to defeat the incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad who polled 500,625 votes.
The 2015 Bauchi State gubernatorial election was the 8th gubernatorial election of Bauchi State. Held on April 11, 2015, the All Progressives Congress nominee Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar won the election, defeating Mohammed Jatau of the People's Democratic Party.
