Beau Burchell (born December 17, 1978) is an American musician, record producer, and audio engineer from Orange County, California. As a performer, he is best known as the guitarist and backing vocalist in Saosin. He is one of Saosin's founders, and the band's only remaining member who has played with the band through its entire existence. He has previously been a member of Kosmos Express [1] and Open Hand. [2]

Burchell also has a prolific reputation as a record producer. He has been credited on over thirty albums of various types of punk rock. He also owns the record label Death Do Us Part.

Gear

On stage, Burchell has been seen playing a Gibson Les Paul Custom, a Gibson SG Standard, a Burny Les Paul Custom, a Fender Jaguar, and a Balaguer Guitars Thicket BB. He plays a Hughes & Kettner Triamp MKII amp through both a Hughes & Kettner 4x12 cabinet with Vintage 30 speakers and a 2x12 cabinet with Greenback speakers. He has also stated that onstage he uses a Bob Bradshaw Custom Audio Electronics Looper, a RS-10 MIDI Switching Module, a Line 6 Echo Pro Delay Unit, TC Electronic G-Major, Shure U4D wireless Unit, a Boss noise gate, and a Dunlop Tremolo Pedal.

To record Translating the Name, Burchell played both a Gibson Les Paul Standard and Gibson SG Standard. He used a modded Mesa/Boogie 2-Channel Dual Rectifier amp through a Marshall 1960B cabinet for the rhythm tracks.

Saosin is an American rock band formed in 2003 in Orange County, California. The group originally consisted of Beau Burchell, Justin Shekoski, Zach Kennedy, Pat Magrath and Anthony Green. Their debut EP, Translating the Name, was released in the same year. However, Green departed from the band due to personal reasons, leading to Cove Reber joining as the vocalist in 2004. With Reber, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2006 under Capitol Records.

Translating the Name is the debut EP by American rock band Saosin, released on June 17, 2003 through Death Do Us Part. The album was released before Anthony Green initial departure from the band to form the rock band Circa Survive. It is also the band's only release to feature bass guitarist Zack Kennedy, as well as the only release to not feature drummer Alex Rodriguez. Guitarist Beau Burchell stated that Rodriguez intended to track the drums for Translating the Name but had a prior commitment with his former band Open Hand before he could join. Pat Magrath was hired as a session musician and performed with Saosin briefly before Rodriguez joined.

Kosmos Express was a rock band from the 1990s. They were represented in both the mainstream and Christian market.

Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band From First to Last. It was released on June 29, 2004, through Epitaph Records. The title was taken from a monologue in the film Heathers, in which Winona Ryder's character is writing in her diary. Production was handled by Lee Dyess and the band themselves. The album was remastered by Beau Burchell from Saosin, however, it is not indicated on the personnel, possibly due to a contemporary feud between the band. The album is also notable for being one of the earliest projects featuring singer and multi-instrumentalist Sonny Moore.

Anthony Green is an American singer from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He is currently the lead singer of Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and L.S. Dunes, while also maintaining a solo career. He was previously in the bands Audience of One, Jeer at Rome, High and Driving, and Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer. Green is known for his distinctive, high vocal timbre.

Justin Paul Hollis Shekoski is an American guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, best known for being the former lead guitarist, songwriter, and backing vocalist of Saosin and the Used. He has cited guitarists John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert as some of his main inspirations. Shekoski is also known for his guitar playing style onstage, including "guitar spins," which involves spinning his guitar over his left shoulder multiple times, subsequently catching it mid-air, and continuing to play.

In Search of Solid Ground is the second studio album by American rock band Saosin, released on September 8, 2009 through Virgin Records. Recording sessions for the album saw Saosin recording with multiple producers such as Butch Walker, John Feldman, and Lucas from Matt Squire's production team. Five songs off the album were self-produced by the band's guitarist Beau Burchell and bass guitarist Chris Sorenson. The album is also the last release to feature lead vocalist Cove Reber and guitarist Justin Shekoski, until Reber later returned to Saosin in 2024.
