Beaver Marsh is an unincorporated community in Klamath County, Oregon, United States. [1] It is located on U.S. Route 97, about 6 miles south of Chemult. [2] The Southern Pacific Cascade Line passes near the locale. [2]

Beaver Marsh was an important stagecoach stop on the Oregon Central Military Wagon Road. [3] Beaver Marsh post office opened in 1927 and closed in 1928. [3] The community is near the swamp of the same name. [4]

Climate

This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Beaver Marsh has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps. [5]

Now privately owned and under restoration...Historic Beaver Marsh airport now has a clear and smooth runway of 120 feet x 5000 ft. South approach is now clear of timber. End landing markers clearly show safe a landing area. The helicopter pad has lighting as of 4/2021. Well water for fire suppression is in place. IRS awarded a 501c3 as of 5/2021 for education and charitable activity for this Historic site.

The goal of the 2021 - 2022 COAR grant application was to establish runway lights, making this airstrip the only Central Oregon Cascade airport to have lighted nighttime landing availability. As of the spring of 2023 this is a reality. Late summer of 2023 also saw the fencing/security of the airport, reinforcement of the helicopter landing pad and gravel to reduce the impact of dust to aircraft of all types.

At the time it was said the name was chosen because the town was halfway between Portland and San Francisco on the proposed Cascade Line of the Southern Pacific Railroad. It is not halfway, however, and it is now thought that the name refers to the town's site on land partly surrounded by marshes.

Pengra, in July 1865, while they were making a preliminary survey for the Oregon Central Military Road, which would later become Oregon Route 58. Bohemia Mountain is a mountain in the Cascade Range of the U.S. state of Oregon, within the Umpqua National Forest. Its elevation is 5,994 feet (1,827 m). A trail traverses the mountain and leads to the summit. There is a location east of the trail's end where on a clear day one can see Mount Shasta, Mount Hood, and other peaks of the Cascades. Cascade Summit is an unincorporated community in Klamath County, Oregon, United States. It is located on the west shore of Odell Lake near Shelter Cove; about 30 miles southeast of Oakridge.

Hampton is an unincorporated locale in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located about 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Lowell. Hampton was established in 1952 as a station on the Southern Pacific Railroad Cascade Line on the shore of Lookout Point Lake, when the railroad was relocated because of the creation of the lake. It was named for Harry A. Hampton, the railroad division engineer from 1922 to 1943.
