Rebecca "Becca" Monopoli (born June 28, 1989) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 85 Ford for City Garage Motorsports. She is a regular in the PRO Truck Series, where she has garnered twenty championships and ninety four victories in the category. [1]

Racing career

Monopoli has previously competed in series such as the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Series, the Florida United Promoters Legends Series, the Florida Pro Truck Series as well as the Challenge Series division, and the Sunshine State Challenge Series Pro Trucks Series. [2] She was a part of the Alan Kulwicki Driver Development Program in 2021. [1]

In 2024, Monopoli participated in pre-season testing for the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona International Speedway driving for Fast Track Racing in the No. 66 Toyota. [3] [4] Weeks later, it was announced that Monopoli would attempt to make her ARCA debut at Daytona, driving the No. 47 Toyota for Mixon Racing in collaboration with Mike Harmon Racing. [1] [5] [6] [7] She ultimately failed to qualify after setting the 46th fastest time in qualifying. [8]

On April 9, 2024, it was announced that Monopoli would attempt to make her ARCA debut at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, this time driving for the newly formed City Garage Motorsports in the No. 85 car. [9]

Personal life

Monopoli is part of the Florida Sheriff's Young Ranches, a non-profit organization that assists at-risk youth. [1]

The 2024 Hard Rock Bet 200 was the first stock car race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 61st running of the event. The race was originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, but due to the forecasted inclement weather for Saturday, the race was moved up to Friday, February 16, immediately following the NASCAR Truck Series race on the same day. The race was held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, a 2.5 mile (4 km) permanent tri-oval shaped asphalt superspeedway. The race was originally scheduled to be contested over 80 laps, but was extended to 84 laps due to a NASCAR overtime finish. In a wild and wreck-filled race, Gus Dean, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would hold off the field in a one lap restart, and won the race after a vicious crash occurred on the final lap. This was Dean's third career ARCA Menards Series win, and his first of the season. Dean's teammate, Jake Finch, had dominated the entire race, leading a race-high 65 laps before being involved in the last lap incident. To fill out the podium, Thomas Annunziata, driving for Jeff McClure Racing, and Greg Van Alst, driving for his own team, Van Alst Motorsports, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
