Background and release

Laroi first alluded to his second album on 18 February 2023, before his debut album, The First Time, was even released, with a Tweet that said "FL TFT SCUM," with each phrase being the first letter of each of his albums. Although rumors circulated of a summer themed album, including a discord message from Laroi's photographer Adam Kergenian stating that a summer album was on the way that year, an album did not release. The next time the album was teased was at his performance at the NRL Grand Final on 6 October 2024, [3] where he appeared wearing a jacket that said "WATCH THIS!" [4] Fans soon attributed this phrase to the name of his new album as that week a new website, thewholeworldswatching.life, released to accompany the release of his single Aperol Spritz which released on 11 October 2024 later that week. The album wouldn't be alluded to until 8 April 2025 when he posted a snippet of the presumed lead single to the album, How Does It Feel?. The song saw numerous delays but eventually released on 20 June 2025, succeeding All I Want Is You, which released on 6 June 2025 and kicked off the unofficial Watch This! era. These songs were soon succeeded by Hot Girl Problems and She Don't Need to Know, with the latter ending to unofficial Watch This! era as the album had been scrapped, with Laroi stating, "I didn't feel comfortable releasing it." [5] To replace it, Laroi recorded Before I Forget, an album largely driven by his July breakup with girlfriend Tate McRae in the three months following their split. [6] To kick off the era, Laroi released A Cold Play on 5 September 2025 after it leaked the previous month before. The album was officially announced on 20 November 2025, along with the release of A Perfect World [7] the same day, 11 days after performing it at the NFL Halftime show in Berlin, Germany. The album is set to be released on 9 January 2026.
