Benita Ha (born January 19) is a Hong Kong Canadian actress. She is best known in Canada for her appearance in the television show Street Cents . [1] [2] [3]
Ha was once known for hosting the television show Street Cents, but her rapidly expanding list of credits on both the small screen and the big screen has allowed her to expand beyond the early days of her career. She studied journalism at the University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia and communications at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Ha has also appeared in Smallville , X-Men: The Last Stand , Psych , Paycheck , Catwoman , and Flight 93 . She recently voiced the character Rebecca Chang in the survival horror video game Dead Rising 2 and appeared in Underworld: Awakening , R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour , Innocent and Emily Owens M.D. and Motive .
Ha was a publicist and consultant at MJM Communications. She also was a host, producer, field and segment producer, news anchor, and reporter at the CBC, CTV News Channel, Citytv, and Discovery Channel.
Ha was born in Hong Kong and can speak Cantonese. Her surname, Ha, means summer in Cantonese.
Ha once hosted the Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre show - Chop Suey Special #10 with Canadian comedian Tom Chin at the Norman Rothstein Theatre on January 23, 2010.
In 2011, Ha appeared in a Bank of Montreal commercial. In the commercial, she played the role of a banker. She also voiced the character Rebecca Chang again in the video game Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.
Ha was a practical nurse at George Pearson Centre and has been a practical nurse at St. Paul's Hospital since 2012. She continues to act.

Asia Television Limited is a digital media and broadcasting company in Hong Kong. Established as the first television service in Hong Kong as Rediffusion Television on 29 May 1957, it shifted to terrestrial television on 30 November 1973 and was renamed Asia Television on 24 September 1982. ATV operated two main over-the-air channels: the Cantonese-language ATV Home and the English-language ATV World.
Television in Hong Kong is primarily in Cantonese and English. It is delivered through analogue and digital terrestrial, cable, IPTV, and the Internet. Satellite TV is not common, although many housing estates have dishes and re-distribute a limited number of free channels through coaxial cables. The dominant broadcaster is TVB, ViuTV and HOY TV.
The culture of Hong Kong is primarily a mix of Chinese and Western influences, stemming from Lingnan Cantonese roots and later fusing with British culture due to British colonialism. As an international financial center dubbed "Asia's World City", contemporary Hong Kong has also absorbed many international influences from around the world. Moreover, Hong Kong also has indigenous people and ethnic minorities from South and Southeast Asia, whose cultures all play integral parts in modern-day Hong Kong culture. As a result, after the 1997 transfer of sovereignty to the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong has continued to develop a unique identity under the rubric of One Country, Two Systems.

Di Nü Hua is a fictional Chinese story about Princess Changping of the Ming Dynasty and her husband/lover, Zhou Shixian. The first known story was a Kunqu script written in the Qing Dynasty, while the second version was a Cantonese opera from the early 1900s later found in Japan and Shanghai. Little information is available from this early 1900s version. The contemporary prevailing version, not meant to be historically accurate, comes from the second Cantonese opera script.
Huang Yu-chun, known by her final stage name Ivy Ling Po, is a retired Hong Kong actress and Chinese opera singer. She is best known for a number of mega-hit Huangmei opera films in the 1960s, especially The Love Eterne (1963) which made her an Asian superstar overnight. She played an important role in the entertainment industry for preserving the Huangmei opera art form.
Street Cents is a newsmagazine TV series directed at teenagers that originally aired on CBC Television between 1989 and 2006. Street Cents focused on consumer and media awareness for young people. The series was created by producer John Nowlan. He cites Britain's Pocket Money as one of the inspirations for Street Cents. The show has won several Gemini Awards and even an International Emmy for Best Youth Programming or Series. The series was lauded by critics for its efforts to be inclusive and representative of Canada's youth. The theme song for several seasons was "Where Does My Money Go?" by Thrush Hermit.
Lee Theatre was a prominent theatre in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Once one of the premier performing venues in Hong Kong, the Beaux-Arts theatre was demolished in the 1990s and replaced with an office building and a shopping centre.

In the 1980s, she was commonly referred to by her nickname Do Do. She is one of the richest TV actresses in Hong Kong who turned her career to films. Cheng is regarded as a "living Hong Kong Cinema legend" who has brought to fame previous unknowns such as Jackie Chan, Jackie Cheung and Andy Lau. She also has won numerous acting awards in both film and television genres, as well as hosting awards. In October 2022, Cheng announced she would not be renewing her contract with TVB after 44 years with the company.

Chinese Voice is a Cantonese, Mandarin and English language radio network based in Auckland, New Zealand. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Best News Entertainment, an Asian language television, print and radio company, and consists of three station set up between 2003 and 2010. It produces more than 80 hours of local content each week, including live talkback on news stories, migrant issues, political developments and dealing with New Zealand Government agencies.
