A suburb of Indianapolis, Fishers has grown rapidly in recent decades: about 350 people lived there in 1963, 2,000 in 1980, and only 7,500 as recently as 1990.

Benton Central Junior-Senior High School is the only high school in Benton County, Indiana, and is located five miles southeast of Fowler in Atkinson. The school mascot is the Bison. BC was a 1960s consolidation of Ambia, Boswell, Earl Park, Fowler, Freeland Park, Montmorenci, Pine Township, Oxford, Otterbein, and Wadena schools. The number of elementary schools sending students to Benton Central has declined steadily since then, and only two are left. The first graduating class (1969) selected by vote the mascot, colors, and school name.
Atkinson is an unincorporated community in Center Township, Benton County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The site of Atkinson is home to the county's only junior/senior high school, Benton Central.
LaOtto is a small unincorporated community in Swan Township, Noble County, Indiana, in the U.S. state of Indiana. Located west of the current intersection of Indiana State Road 3 and Indiana State Road 205, it is 16 miles north of Fort Wayne and is also in proximity to Kendallville and Auburn. It is therefore considered a bedroom community to these cities.
Center Township is one of eleven townships in Benton County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 2,715 and it contained 1,212 housing units. It was organized in June 1875 and was originally known as Prairie Township.

The College Community School District is a public school district serving communities of Linn, Johnson, and Benton counties in east central Iowa. The district was established in 1954 after the consolidation of several township schools. Based on a 381-acre (154 ha) campus in the southern part of Cedar Rapids, the district encompasses 137 square miles (350 km2) including the communities of Walford, Fairfax, Swisher, Shueyville, Ely, Southwest Cedar Rapids, and surrounding areas.
Otterbein Elementary School is one of two public elementary schools in Benton County, Indiana and is located in Otterbein, Indiana. The school mascot is the Red Devil. In 1972 half of the elementary, previously a high school, caught fire and burned down. Otterbein's first class was the class of 1910 and in 2010 Otterbein celebrated 100 years of being open.
