Beshariq is a district of Fergana Region in Uzbekistan. The capital lies at the city Beshariq. [1] It had 234,600 inhabitants in 2022. [2] The district consists of one city (Beshariq), 10 urban-type settlements (Nafosat, Zarqaynar, Kapayangi, Qumqishloq, Oqtovuq, Rapqon, Tovul, Uzun, Chimboy, Manguobod) and 9 rural communities. [1]
Fergana, or Ferghana, is a district-level city and the capital of Fergana Region in eastern Uzbekistan. Fergana is about 420 km east of Tashkent, about 75 km west of Andijan, and less than 20 km from the Kyrgyzstan border.
Osh is the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located in the Fergana Valley in the south of the country and often referred to as the "capital of the south". It is the oldest city in the country and has served as the administrative center of Osh Region since 1939. The city has an ethnically mixed population of 322,164 in 2021, comprising Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Russians, Tajiks, and other smaller ethnic groups. It is about 5 km from the Uzbekistan border.

Namangan Region is one of the regions of Uzbekistan, located in the southern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern part of the country. In particular, the region extracts oil in Mingbulak District and big gold and diamond deposits have been discovered in Kosonsoy and Pop Districts. There are also large deposits of uranium, silver, aluminum, tungsten, iron, copper, granite, and marble, among others. There are two big mountain tunnels connecting the Fergana valley with the inner city area and other regions of the country, located in the territory of Namangan.
Margilan is a district-level city in Fergana Region in eastern Uzbekistan. It is located at latitude 40°28' 16 N: longitude 71°43' 29 E. at an altitude of 487 meters.
Khalmion is a village in Kadamjay District, Batken Region in south-west Kyrgyzstan, sitting practically on the border with Uzbekistan's Fergana Region. Its population was 6,274 in 2021. The village lies just to the west of the tiny enclave Jangail belonging to Uzbekistan, less than 1 km2 in area. This enclave is located north-northwest of another Uzbek enclave (Shakhimardan). The Kyrgyz villages of Khalmion and Jangy-Ayyl lie outside opposite edges of this enclave, within 1 km of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek main border.
