Between Friends is an American musical group, composed of siblings Brandon and Savannah Hudson. In 2013, they were quarterfinalists on Season 8 of America's Got Talent. The duo continued to pursue music, forming Between Friends in 2017, and released their first EP in 2018. As of February 2023, they have nearly 2,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Biography

The duo were born in Miami, Florida, and grew up in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. [1] They displayed an early interest and aptitude for music, and were home-schooled. [2] In 2013, they auditioned for Season 8 of America's Got Talent, and progressed until being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Two years later they, along with several others, formed a group called The Heirs. They played in the 2016 Vans Warped Tour, [3] but the group disbanded in 2017. The duo, along with the drummer of The Heirs, split off to create Between Friends in 2017. They are especially known for their 2018 hit single "affection", [4] which has more than 155 million streams on Spotify as of February 2023. Their style has been self-described as "laptop-dream pop". [5] In March 2024 it was announced that they would support Conan Gray on the Europe leg of his tour Found Heaven On Tour. [6]

Calum Scott is an English singer and songwriter. In April 2015, he rose to prominence after competing on the ITV talent contest Britain's Got Talent, where he performed his version of Robyn's hit "Dancing on My Own" and earned Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer. After coming sixth in the contest, he released his version as a single the following year, which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and became Britain's best-selling single of summer 2016.

Oh Wonder are an English, London-based alt-pop duo consisting of Anthony Vander West and Josephine Vander West. Since releasing their debut album, they have seen international success with their alt-pop singles. Oh Wonder recorded and released one song a month for a year, starting in September 2014. All of the songs were released together as a self-titled debut album on 4 September 2015. On 14 July 2017, the duo released their second album, Ultralife. On 12 February 2020, they released their third album, No One Else Can Wear Your Crown. On 8 October 2021, the now-married duo released their fourth studio album, 22 Break. All four albums were written, recorded, produced, and mixed by the duo and have seen cross-platform success.

"Maniac" was written by Gray and Dan Nigro, who also produced the song. The song has been certified Platinum in Australia, Brazil, Canada and the United States, becoming his first certifications in all four countries. In early 2020, the song was successful on international mainstream pop radio. It had gained 50 million accumulative streams on Spotify by January 2020, before clocking 90 million streams only two months later. The song also trended on the video-sharing platform TikTok, debuting in the app's Top 25 trending chart.

In September 2019, Turner further gained notoriety after her song "Prom Queen" was used in the trailer for Shane Dawson's web series The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star, which gained over 11 million views in just one week.
