Bintang di Surga is the second studio album by Indonesian alternative rock band Peterpan. Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine ranked the album #116 on "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time" list., [1] A song from this album, "Kukatakan Dengan Indah", got a place at #140 on Rolling Stone Indonesia's "150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time" list. Bintang di Surga is generally considered to be one of the best selling albums of all time in Indonesia, with 3 million copies sold. [3]

Artwork

The concept for Bintang di Surga's cover and graphic design was made by Thovfa CB. [4] For the album's graphic design, Thofva CB won Best Graphic Designer award in Anugerah Musik Indonesia 2005. [5]

Promotion

To promote the album, Peterpan held concerts in six cities on a single day on July 18, 2004. [6] The concerts started in Medan, North Sumatra at 7:55, then continued in Padang, Pekanbaru, Lampung, Semarang, and ended in Surabaya, East Java at 23:00. Peterpan received an award from Indonesian World Records Museum for performing in six cities under 24 hours. [7]

Accolades

In 2005, Bintang di Surga won three Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards for Best of the Best Album, Best Pop Alternative Album and Best Graphic Designer. [5]

In 2012, Peterpan changed their name to Noah. [8] Due to several reasons, such as wanting their old song to be released under Noah name, a desire to improve the recordings since some songs were not recorded the way they wished, and in order to properly adapt their old songs to digital format, Noah re-recorded their songs from Peterpan era. [9] Noah's version of Bintang di Surga was released on 12 January 2022. [10]

In the new Noah version of the album, there are two songs not included in the track listing, which are ‘Aku’ and ‘Masa Lalu Tertinggal’. There was no explanation at the moment, depicting on why these two tracks were not included in the new album.

David Kurnia Albert Dorfel, usually referred to as David Noah, is an Indonesian musician. He is the keyboardist of Indonesian rock band Noah since 2008 after becoming their additional musician in 2006. This position was achieved after undergoing 2 auditions in front of the personnel, as well as being part of the crew and joining Noah's tour for 2 years. David has also collaborated with and wrote song for other musicians, receiving an Anugerah Planet Muzik nomination in 2018 for his collaboration with D'Masiv and Rossa, "Pernah Memiliki", and an Anugerah Musik Indonesia nomination in 2021 for his part in the writing of Stevan Pasaribu's song "Belum Siap Kehilangan".

Taman Langit is the second re-recorded album by the Indonesian rock band Noah. It is a re-recording of their first album Taman Langit, which was released in 2003 when they were named Peterpan, and is the second album in Noah's project to re-record their songs from the Peterpan era. This album was released on December 17, 2021, via Musica Studio's on digital music portals and in CD format. Hari yang Cerah is a re-recorded album by the Indonesian rok music group Noah from the Peterpan album which was released in 2007 with the same name. This album is the fourth re-recorded album by Noah and was released on January 26, 2022, through Musica Studio's. This album is the final release from the "Second Chance" quadrilogy project, where Noah re-recorded all their songs when they were still called Peterpan. The song Cobalah Mengerti was used as the soundtrack for the soap opera Aku Jatuh Cinta which was aired on RCTI in 2022.

"Menghapus Jejakmu" is a song by Indonesian rock band Peterpan. It was written by the band's vocalist, Ariel, with lyrics by Ariel and Sheila on 7 guitarist Eross Candra, who were not credited due to recording label difference until the release of the Noah version in 2022. It was recorded for Peterpan's third studio album Hari yang Cerah (2007), with Capunk and Noey of Java Jive and Icom of Marvells as the producers. It was released as the album's lead single and its music video has been remade and referenced after Peterpan changed their name to Noah.
