Birniwa is a Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Birniwa.
It has an area of 1,567 km2 and a population of 142,329 at the 2006 census.

Birniwa is a multicultural town with Kanuri, Hausa and Fulani residents. Most of the residents of Unguwar Duguri, Dodori, Musari and Abari are Kanuri (Mangawa), and are the early settlers of the town. While residents of Kofar Fada, Tsangayar liman, Tsangayar kudu, Unguwar sarkin fawa and Tsangayar yamma are Hausa speakers. There are other areas with mixture of tribes.
Birniwa is blessed with fertile land, which make farming the major occupation of its residents. They massively produce food crops like millet, beans, sorghum, maize, rice and so on. They also produce cash crops, especially sesame, hibiscus, water melon, melon and so on.
The harvesting period of water melon in Birniwa is usually between September and December, though the melon may be available outside this period.
A yearly temperature of 33.49oC, which is higher than the national average, as well as wet days and 46.08 millimetres of precipitation, resulting in a Subtropical steppe climate. [1] [2]

Bauchi State is a state in the North-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered by Jigawa to the north, Yobe for 188 km to the northeast, Gombe to the east, Taraba and Plateau to the south, Kaduna to the west and Kano for 131 km to the northwest. Haɗejiya is a Hausa town in eastern Jigawa State, northern Nigeria. The population was approximately 105,628 in 2006. Hadejia lies between latitude 12.4506N and longitude 10.0404E. It shared boundary with Kiri Kasama Local Government from the East, Mallam Maɗori Local Government from the North, and Auyo Local Government from the West. The Hadejia Local Government consist of eleven (11) political wards namely: Atafi, Dubantu, Gagulmari, Kasuwar Ƙofa, Kasuwar Kuda, Matsaro, Majema, Rumfa, Sabon Garu, Ƴankoli and Yayari. Inhabitant are dominantly Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri with some other groups such as Tiv, Yoruba, Igbo, Igala etc. The dominant occupation of the inhabitants is crop farming and animal rearing which a considerable percentage, engaged in trading, fishing and services including civil service. The people of Haɗeja are largely Muslims, although some follow indigenous belief systems. The town lies to the north of the Hadejia River, and is upstream from the Hadejia-Nguru wetlands. Hadejia is an internationally important ecological and sensitive zone.
Dutse is the capital city of Jigawa State in northern Nigeria, and also the capital of Dutse Emirate. It is a home to Federal University, Dutse established in November 2011. In addition to the Federal University Dutse, there is also a Research Institute for Date Palm (Sub-Station) and state polytechnic in Dutse. The Jigawa State Polytechnic has its College of Business and Management Studies at Dutse.

Gwiwa is a Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Gwiwa which is a reminiscent of Kagara, a settlement that flourished around 1757c. According to oral tradition, Kagara was ransacked by an expedition sent by Bawa-jangwarzo as part of the wars that ensued between Katsina and Gobir. At that time the area was under the kingdom of Katsina until 1824 when Kazaure Emirate was curved out by the Sakkwato Caliphate. A number of legendary wells surround the old site of Kagara which is about 2 kilometers northwest of the present day Gwiwa town. The number of these wells suggest the size and influence of Kagara at that point in time. Other artefacts could also be found to illuminate on the historical significance of the area. There also exists a vast forest which served as fortress as well as pasture during intertribal wars before the advert of the Sakkwato Jihad in the 18th century. Gwiwa town was once a district headquarters at the inception of the indirect rule by the British. However, this was reverted and Gwiwa was reduced to a colonial out-post until in 1992 when it was made a Local Government headquarters. Generally, the area is arable and fertile. However the land is mainly of Katsina basic complex especially northward of Gwiwa. While some traces of sand dumes are found in the southern part of the local Government Area. It had an area of 450 km2 and a population of 124,517 at the 2006 census.
