Marcel Larry Akunwata popularly known as Blaisebeatz or Blaise Beats, is a Nigerian record producer, and songwriter. He rose to stardom in 2020 with, the production hit "Pami" by DJ Tunez. [1] His other production hits includes "Enjoy" by Tekno, "Sinner", "It Is What It Is", and "Mercy" by Adekunle Gold, "Call Me Every Day" by Chris Brown, "Buga" by Kizz Daniel, [2] and "No Wahala" by 1da Banton. In 2022, he won the Afro Highlife Producer Of The Year and Afro Dancehall Producer Of The Year category at The Beatz Awards. [3]

Early life, and career

Marcel Larry Akunwata hails from Anambra state. He grew up in Niger state, where he had his primary and secondary education before proceeding to the university to study statistics at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, where he graduated with a BSc.

Larry's musical journey started in 2004 when he began playing instruments in church and later joined a live band. [4] In 2006, he ventured into music production and began using the stage name Larryblaise, and later changed his brand name to Blaisebeatz. [4] In 2016, he gained recognition for his minor production hit "I Miss Good Music" by Jumabee, with features guest vocals from Banky W., Sound Sultan, Niyola, and Chigul, and "Nkechi" by Attitude. [4]

In 2020, he rose to stardom with the release of "PAMI" by DJ Tunez, which features guest vocals from Wizkid, Omah Lay, and Adekunle Gold. Since he came into the limelight, he has been credited for multiple production hits, including "Suru" by Tekno, "Omaema" by Skiibi, [5] "Nyamba" by Irene Ntale, "My Darlina" by King Perryy, "Fa'ya" by Ceeza Milli, "Kill Man" by Terri, "Okay" by Adekunle Gold, "Need More" by Reekado Banks, "Quarantine" by Alpha P, "In My Mind" by BNXN, "So Bad" by Simi, [6] and "Cough (Odo)" by Kizz Daniel. Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress. She gained public recognition in 2014 after releasing "Tiff", a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. Ayoola Oladapo Agboola also known as KDDO is a Nigerian record producer, songwriter, and artist. He's best known for producing and writing "Under The Influence" by Chris Brown, charting at number 1 on the Billboard Rhythmic Chart & number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition KDDO wrote and produced Afrobeats longest charting Billboard single "Fall" by Davido, renowned for breaking Afrobeat Music globally. The song peaked on US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at number 13 and US Hot R&B Songs chart at number 25 on Billboard. KDDO is the first Afrobeats producer in history to be certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, after Fall became a certified gold record in the US. Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, also known as DJ Tunez, is a Nigerian-American disc jockey. In 2015, DJ Tunez signed to Wizkid's record label Starboy Entertainment. Featuring vocals from fellow Nigerian singer Tekno, it was released on 4 May 2022 through Flyboy I.N.C and Empire Distribution as the second single from Daniel's fourth studio album Maverick (2023) and was produced by Reward Beatz, Blaisebeatz, and Yung Willis.
