Anthony Ebuka Victor (born 5 January 2001), known professionally as Victony is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. [1] He is from the Orsu local government area of Imo State. [2] He was influenced while growing up by artists like Davido, Wizkid, Mi, and Falz. He is signed to a Nigerian record label called Mainland BlockParty and Jungle Records. [3] He released a debut studio album Saturn, in August 2020. He released his first single titled Ina Benz, which was his first appearance in the music industry. [4]

In 2022, Victony released "Soweto" featuring Tempoe as the debut single off his Outlaw EP. It gained tractions on Tiktok and a remix featuring Rema and Don Toliver charted in United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland and Canada. [5]

Early life and career

Victony first came unto the scene when he traded rap verses with Ladipoe on his revival Sunday series. He made his debut with a mixtape on SoundCloud titled The Outlaw King, the reason he is still known as "The Outlaw King". [6]

The mixtape was followed by covers of international hit records like "Bodak Yellow" by Cardi B, [7] "Moonlight" by XXXTentacion, [8] and "On the Low" by Burna Boy. [9] [10] Victony started off as a rapper but later switched and started releasing R&B, trap music, and Afropop records. [11] [12] 2021 started with his record "Pray" gaining traction, a song that was released after he was in a car crash. He got his biggest break in October 2021 when he teamed up with Mayorkun on the song "Holy Father". [13] The song was number one on Apple Music Nigeria and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top Triller Global charts in December 2021. [14] He later collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producer Rexxie on an EP called Nataraja. [15] [16]

Personal life

He recently graduated from the Federal university of Technology Owerri (F.U.T.O) where he studied petrochemical engineering. [17] [18] On 21 April 2021, Victony was involved in a fatal car crash. [19] The crash claimed the life of one of his friends, Doyin, [20] and he needed surgery. [21] [22]

Victony has remained in a wheelchair after the surgery, [23] but stood to perform for the first time alongside Davido and Mayorkun on 24 December 2021. [24] [25] [26]

He gained widespread attention after releasing the 2015 hit single "Sade", a highlife cover of One Direction's "Story of My Life". He signed a record deal with YBNL Nation and released his 2015 debut studio album Gold, which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Gold was preceded by the release of three singles: "Sade", "Orente" and "Pick Up". Adekunle Gold revealed to Nigerian Entertainment Today that prior to signing with YBNL, he designed the label's official logo and completed other designs for Lil Kesh, Viktoh and Olamide. Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, popularly known as Tekno, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter and Record producer. His song “Enjoy” was the closing song in an episode of the Emmy-winning TV series Ted Lasso.

Ayoola Oladapo Agboola also known as KDDO is a Nigerian record producer, songwriter, and artist. He's best known for producing and writing "Under The Influence" by Chris Brown, charting at number 1 on the Billboard Rhythmic Chart & number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition KDDO wrote and produced Afrobeats longest charting Billboard single "Fall" by Davido, renowned for breaking Afrobeat Music globally. The song peaked on US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at number 13 and US Hot R&B Songs chart at number 25 on Billboard. KDDO is the first Afrobeats producer in history to be certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, after Fall became a certified gold record in the US.
