The EP received highly positive reviews from music critics. Tim Sendra of AllMusic wrote that each song “...would have sounded great on an album, no filler to be found”. He praised the EP’s production and songcraft as well as Falkner’s vocals, calling the songs “Moving Up” and “The Neighbor” the best songs from the release. [1] In a track-by-track review for PopMatters, Gary Glauber criticized the “weak rhyming” of “The Neighbor”, but praised tracks such as “Moving Up” and “Lost Myself”. In summation, Glauber writes, “Listening to Falkner's music is a joyous event -- his ebullience inspires smiles all around. There's a simple innocence and charm to the songs; he sings as though you're a confidante, and you get sucked into the whorl of pretty layered sounds and perfect fills. If these songs are a preview of the longer work upcoming, put me down for one now.” [2]

Shake the Sheets is the fourth studio album by the Washington, D.C. rock band Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, released in 2004 by Lookout! Records. It was the band's last album for the Lookout! label. A music video was filmed for the single "Me and Mia", a song about a friend of frontman Ted Leo who's battled an eating disorder.
Jason Falkner is an American songwriter, musician, and guitarist who was a member of the bands Jellyfish, the Three O'Clock, and the Grays. Since 1996, he has released six solo albums, starting with Presents Author Unknown. He is also a session musician and producer who has contributed to dozens of recordings by other bands and musicians as well as a touring guitar player for Beck for decades.
