Boitumelo Theodora Moiloa is a South African politician from the North West who served as the MEC (Member of the Executive Council) for Social Development from May 2019 until May 2024. She was sworn in as a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature in August 2013. Moiloa is a member of both the African National Congress and the South African Communist Party.
Moiloa started her political activism during her school years in the 1980s and 1990s. [1] She was an activist for the African National Congress. She later joined the South African Communist Party and served as the party's treasurer in the Dr Ruth Mompatsi region. Moiloa also served on the ANC's regional executive. She was elected to the ANC's provincial executive committee in 2011. [1]
Moiloa was sworn in as a member of the North West Provincial Legislature on 13 August 2013,succeeding Veronica Kekesi. [1] She was elected to a full term in the 2014 provincial election. [2] In April 2018,Moiloa spoke out against premier Supra Mahumapelo and called on him to resign. [3] After her re-election in the provincial election held on 8 May 2019,premier Job Mokgoro appointed her Member of the Executive Council for Social Development on 28 May 2019. She was sworn in on the same day and took over from Fenny Gaolaolwe. [4] [5]
On 31 May 2023,Moiloa and the Social Development Head of Department Relebohile Mofokane were suspended and placed on a month long leave due to infighting in the department. [6] Moiloa was sacked as Social Development MEC on 11 July 2023. [7]
Tebogo Job Mokgoro is a South African politician and academic who served as the 6th Premier of North West from June 2018 until his resignation in August 2021. He was a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature during that time. He is a party member of the African National Congress.
Wendy Joy Nelson is a South African politician from the North West. She was the North West Finance,Economy and Enterprise Development MEC from 2015 to 2018,and the North West Tourism MEC from 2018 to 2019. She was also a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature for the African National Congress (ANC) from 2014 to 2019. She briefly served as the acting Premier of North West in 2018. She was a Member of the National Assembly from 2009 to 2014. Nelson had also been involved in the local politics of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality.

Kaobitsa Abel Bushy Maape is a South African politician and anti-apartheid activist who served as the 7th Premier of the North West and as member of the North West Provincial Legislature from September 2021 until May 2024. Maape is a member of the African National Congress and a former Robben Island prisoner.

Motlalepula Ziphora Rosho is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,she was elected deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature in 2010. In 2012 she was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development,Environment,Conservation and Tourism in the North West Provincial Government. Rosho was discharged from the executive council in 2014 and then served in the provincial legislature as a committee chairperson until December 2018,when she returned to the executive as MEC for Local Government and Human Settlement. Rosho was appointed as MEC for Finance after the 2019 elections. After the 2024 election,she became the chief whip of the house in the legislature.
