Ntsetsao Viola Motsumi is a South African politician. In May 2019,she was elected deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature and consequently became the youngest deputy speaker in South Africa. In November 2022,she was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council for Education in the North West province. Motsumi is a member of the African National Congress.
Motsumi was born in the village Madibe-Makgabane. [1] She matriculated from Mmabatho High School in 2001 and went on to study at North-West University. From the university,she holds a B.Sc. degree in physics,a postgraduate certificate in education,and a BScHons degree in microbiology. [1] She obtained an MBA from the university in 2019. Motsumi worked as a teacher at Mmabatho High between 2008 and 2015. [1]
In May 2019,she was elected to the North West Provincial Legislature as an African National Congress representative. She was sworn in as an MPL on 22 May. On the same day,she was elected deputy speaker,succeeding Jane Manganye. [2] [3] At the time,Motsumi was the youngest deputy speaker in South Africa. [1]
On 22 November 2022,premier Bushy Maape conducted a reshuffle of his executive council which saw Motsumi being appointed as Member of the Executive Council for Education. [4] She resigned as deputy speaker on 7 December 2022 and became the Education MEC,succeeding Wendy Matsemela,who resigned from the legislature. [5] [6]
In June 2024,Motsumi was reappointed as Education MEC by the newly elected premier Lazarus Mokgosi. [7]

Previously,she had served as the MEC for Economic Development,Environment,Conservation and Tourism from May 2019 to November 2022 and as the MEC for Arts,Culture and Recreation from November 2022 until June 2024. Mosenogi also served as the deputy secretary-general of the African National Congress Youth League from 2011 until 2013.
Lebogang James Motlhaping is a South African politician from the Northern Cape. He was the Member of the Executive Council for Transport,Safety and Liaison from 2018 to 2019,the MEC for Health from 2016 to 2018,and the MEC for Sports,Arts and Culture from 2014 to 2016. He was a Member of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature from 2014 to 2019. Motlhaping is a member of the African National Congress.
Mavhungu Maureen Lerule-Ramakhanya is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,Lerule-Ramakhanya is a former mayor of the Vhembe District Municipality. She was elected as a Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature in May 2019. She was then elected as the speaker of the legislature. Motlalepula Ziphora Rosho is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,she was elected deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature in 2010. In 2012 she was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development,Environment,Conservation and Tourism in the North West Provincial Government. Rosho was discharged from the executive council in 2014 and then served in the provincial legislature as a committee chairperson until December 2018,when she returned to the executive as MEC for Local Government and Human Settlement. Rosho was appointed as MEC for Finance after the 2019 elections. After the 2024 election,she became the chief whip of the house in the legislature.
Violet Sizani Siwela was a South African politician from Mpumalanga. She was a Member of the National Assembly,where she chaired the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development,and a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC).
