Gavin George Edwards is a South African politician who is a Member of the North West Provincial Legislature representing the Democratic Alliance. Previously, he served as a councillor of the JB Marks Local Municipality.

Political career

Edwards is a member of the Democratic Alliance. He was the ward councillor for ward 2 of the JB Marks Local Municipality. During his tenure on the JB Marks municipal council, he criticised the speaker for not attending an Integrated Development Plan (IDP) meeting in October 2018. [1]

Following his election to the North West Provincial Legislature in May 2019, he was appointed the DA's spokesperson for social development, education and health. [2]

In March 2021, he was elected chair of the Portfolio Committee on Health and Social Development. [3]

Mark Willemse is a South African politician. He is the former Executive Mayor of Knysna, and former Ward Councillor for Ward 9. Michéle Odette Clarke is a South African politician serving as the Democratic Alliance's Shadow Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises since December 2020. She was the Shadow Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration from June 2019 to December 2020. She was elected to the National Assembly in May 2019. From May 2014 to May 2019, she served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Clarke was also the ward councillor for Bedfordview until 2014.

Nomathemba Emily Mokgethi is a South African politician who has served as the Gauteng Health MEC since 2020 and has been a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2018. After leaving parliament in 2019, Engelbrecht returned to the Tshwane city council as a DA PR councillor. In February 2021 she was sworn in as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
