Contents

Set in 2024, the series follows a returning Bomb Queen years after faking her death as the supervillainess runs against U.S. President Donald Trump to prevent him from acquiring a third term to become president for life. A revival of Bomb Queen, set after the events of Time Bomb: Countdown to Armageddon, it was preceded by the story arc End of Hope: The Day the Heroes Died in 2012.

The series has received a universally positive critical reception. [5]

Premise

Part One: Vote 2024

In 2024, the notorious cloned supervillain Bomb Queen, unveiled from having faked her death years prior by her half-brother and superhero White Knight, seeks to stop Donald Trump from becoming president for life by campaigning against him, stealing his voter base, and laying bare America's dark underbelly in the process. [6] [7]

Part Two: Grab 'Em By The Rally

Bomb Queen escapes one dangerous trap after another before making a surprise appearance at Trump’s campaign rally; meanwhile, Capewatch.com leader Neil King finds that Bomb Queen has learned Chinese. [8]

Part Three: No Queef Pro Quo

Bomb Queen leaks information on White Knight's secret support of her to his fellow superheroes in order to find an excuse to kill them, while continuing her campaign to become the 46th President of the United States. [9] [10]

Part Four: Make America Gape Again

The votes are in, and the devious Bomb Queen lights the fuse to her explosive plot that nobody saw coming. With the tables turned, Trump races for survival in a dramatic ending which will change the landscape of the world forever. [11] [12]

Development

In September 2019, Jimmie Robinson revealed that Bomb Queen would return for an eighth miniseries, tentatively entitled Bomb Queen vs. Trump, setting the titular supervillainness against her third U.S. President (following her previous battles with George W. Bush and Barack Obama) in Donald Trump, describing them as being:

"the same, [the characters are] buddies really [where] the whole thing is getting to a point in the Trump presidency where the superheroes of the country come to Bomb Queen for help because she’s the only one that could capture his base [and] Bomb Queen has her base that says, “We love how evil she is.” So the only way you’re going to beat Trump is to steal his base from him and that is to out-Trump Trump. Not to be a good guy, but to be [the] ultimate bad guy [who] is a bad girl. That's Bomb Queen. So yeah, [the] heroes get together because they can’t kill their own sitting president. There’ll be villains. So you get a villain to do your dirty work, but of course it’s Bomb Queen and she’s going to win where everyone’s probably going to get stabbed in the back kind of a thing. So you’re making a deal with the devil. You’re going to pay the price." [13]

In August 2020, Robins revealed he had been planning a series following Bomb Queen taking on Hillary Clinton prior to Trump assuming office, stating that "they were made for each other". [14] In February 2021, Robinson revealed the series' ending had been changed due to the release of its final issue being delayed until after the 2020 United States presidential election, expressing interest in a future miniseries exploring Bomb Queen taking on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
