The Boulevard Lakefront Tour is a non-competitive bicycle ride on Lake Shore Drive and neighborhood communities in downtown Chicago, Illinois, presented by the law firm of Schwartz Cooper and the Active Transportation Alliance. The event includes 15-mile, 35-mile and 62-mile (or metric century) rides.
Nearly 2,200 riders participated in 2005, including several hundred who pedaled the new 62-mile (100 km) Chicago Cycling Club Metric Century.

The imperial system of units, imperial system or imperial units is the system of units first defined in the British Weights and Measures Act 1824 and continued to be developed through a series of Weights and Measures Acts and amendments. The imperial units replaced the Winchester Standards, which were in effect from 1588 to 1825. The system came into official use across the British Empire in 1826. By the late 20th century, most nations of the former empire had officially adopted the metric system as their main system of measurement, but imperial units are still used in the United Kingdom, Canada and some other countries formerly part of the British Empire. The imperial system developed from what were first known as English units, as did the related system of United States customary units.

Streeterville is a neighborhood in the Near North Side community area of Chicago, Illinois, United States, north of the Chicago River. It is bounded by the river on the south, the Magnificent Mile portion of Michigan Avenue on the west, and Lake Michigan on the north and east, according to most sources, although the City of Chicago only recognizes a small portion of this region as Streeterville. Thus, it can be described as the Magnificent Mile plus all land east of it. The tourist attraction of Navy Pier extends out into the lake from southern Streeterville. The majority of the land in this neighborhood is reclaimed sandbar.

The John F. Kennedy Expressway is a nearly 18-mile-long (29 km) freeway in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The freeway runs in a southeast–northwest direction between the central city neighborhood of the West Loop and O'Hare International Airport and was named in memory of the 35th U.S. President, John F. Kennedy. It conforms to the Chicago-area term of using the word expressway for an Interstate Highway without tolls. The Interstate 90 (I-90) portion of Chicago's Kennedy Expressway is a part of the much longer I-90. The Kennedy's official endpoints are the Circle Interchange with Interstate 290 and the Dan Ryan Expressway at the east end, and the O'Hare Airport terminals at the west end. Another road, the I-190 portion of the Kennedy, is 3.07 miles (4.94 km) long and serves airport traffic. I-90 picks up the Kennedy designation and runs a further 6.29 miles (10.12 km), before joining with I-94 for the final 8.44 miles (13.58 km).

Bike the Drive or Fifth Third Bike the Drive is a recreational, non-competitive bicycle ride held each year in Chicago. Lake Shore Drive is cleared of motor vehicle traffic and opened exclusively to bicyclists for several hours beginning at dawn. The event benefits bicycling advocacy work in the region by the Active Transportation Alliance, formerly known as the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation. Since 2004, Bike the Drive has been held on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. In 2006, an estimated 20,000 riders participated in the event. The event is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank and branded as Fifth Third Bike the Drive; it was previously sponsored by MB Financial Bank from 2010-2018 and prior to 2010, was sponsored by Bank of America.
Apple Cider Century is a bicycle ride of 15, 25, 37, 50, 62, 75 or 100 miles around Three Oaks, Michigan, in the USA. It was started by the Three Oaks Spokes Bicycle Club in 1974 with just 220 riders. More than 7,000 riders take part annually. It has been called one of the best rides in the country and is held on the last Sunday of every September.
The L.A.T.E. Ride was an annual, non-competitive, mass bike ride through the streets of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It historically started about 1:00 am and finishes at about sunrise. It was a charity ride benefiting Friends of the Parks, a not-for-profit parks advocacy group in Chicago. The event's title was a backronym, Long After Twilight Ends. The Ride's director from its inception in 1989 until 2012 was Nancy Minster Swabb. The final LATE Ride was in 2016.
Stagecoach Trail is a historic route through northern Jo Daviess County and western Stephenson County, in the northwest of Illinois. The trail was a part of the larger Galena–Chicago trail that crossed almost the entire state.
Cycling in Illinois encompasses recreation, bikeways, laws and rules, and advocacy. The director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Joel Brunsvold, explained Illinois cycling opportunities: “Bicycle riding is one of the most popular outdoor recreational activities in Illinois, enjoyed by young and old alike...Illinois has a variety of trails for the public to enjoy. The terrain includes flat prairie land to rolling hills, towering bluffs to the breathtaking river and lakefront views.” Many communities across the state are updating bicycle infrastructure in order to accommodate the increased number of cyclists on the roads.
A century ride is a road cycling ride of 100 miles or more, usually as a cycling club-sponsored event. Many cycling clubs sponsor an annual century ride as both a social event for cyclists and as a fund-raiser for the club’s other activities.
The Light Tank, T1 was a United States Army light tank of the late 1920s and early 1930s that was only built in prototype form. The tank was an Army design built by James Cunningham, Son and Company. Introduced in 1927, it was developed up through 1932 as a series of modified versions. The tank was never mass-produced, nor was it ever used in combat.
Fullerton Avenue, known as Fullerton Parkway from its intersection with Halsted Street and Lincoln Avenue to its east end, is a major east-west street in Chicago and its western suburbs. Its west end is at Gary Avenue in Carol Stream. The road is split in many locations, usually because of freeways or railroads. Its east end is located at U.S. Route 41 in Chicago.
