Broadway-Fillmore (formerly known as Polonia) is a neighborhood in Buffalo, New York, United States. [1]
Broadway-Fillmore is in the lower East Side of Buffalo. The neighborhood is centered along Broadway running west–east and Fillmore Avenue running north–south.
Broadway-Fillmore was once home to a large Polish/Eastern European population in Buffalo. The neighborhood has long since fallen into poverty and disrepair in the mid-late 20th century.
Today a large African American population along with new immigrants are trying to breathe new life into the neighborhood.
Goo Goo Dolls lead singer John Rzeznik grew up here. The neighborhood later became inspiration for the song "Broadway". [2]
Depew is a village in Erie County, New York. The population was 15,303 at the time of the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The village is named for Chauncey Depew, a politician and one of the original investors who bought the land for the village, which was incorporated in 1894.

John Joseph Theodore Rzeznik is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the guitarist and frontman of the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, with whom he has recorded several chart-topping hits, including "Iris", "Slide", and "Name".
Robert Carl Takac Jr. is an American rock bassist and vocalist. Takac is one of the founding members of the Goo Goo Dolls, along with John Rzeznik.
Shea's Performing Arts Center is a theater for touring Broadway musicals and special events in Buffalo, New York. Originally called Shea's Buffalo, it was opened in 1926 to show silent movies. It took one year to build the entire theatre. Shea's boasts one of the few theater organs in the US that is still in operation in the theater for which it was designed.

The East Side is a large district of Buffalo, New York, and the city's physically largest neighborhood. It is bordered by Main Street to the north and west, I-190 and the Kaisertown neighborhood to the south, and the town of Cheektowaga to the east. "Broadway" is a song recorded by the Goo Goo Dolls. The song was released in March 2000 as the last single from their sixth studio album, Dizzy Up the Girl (1998). Although not as popular as the albums previous singles "Iris" and "Slide", the song entered the top 30 in the United States, peaking at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and coming in at number 84 on the Billboard year-end Hot 100 singles of 2000. The single also peaked number seven on the Canadian RPM 100 Hit Tracks chart and number six on the Icelandic Singles Chart.
