Buffalo Church is a historic Methodist church located near Palestine, Wirt County, West Virginia, United States. It was built between 1884 and 1886, and is a one-story, oblong log structure with exterior weatherboarding of beech wood and interior finish of wood boards on walls and ceiling. It is painted white on the inside and outside. Also on the property is the church cemetery, and three outbuildings: two pit toilets and a storage building that were constructed by workers associated with the Work Projects Administration. [2]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. [1]

Buffalo Presbyterian Church (Pamplin, Virginia) Historic church in Virginia, United States

Buffalo Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian Church located in Pamplin, Prince Edward County, Virginia. Built about 1804, it is a simple frame weather-boarded structure with a gable roof covered with standing seam metal. Early in the 20th century the front of the church was reoriented to the east and, in 1931, an addition was made, consisting of an entrance vestibule flanked on either side by a small classroom. Also on the property is the contributing church cemetery, with a number of stone markers, the earliest of which is dated 1832. The congregation of Buffalo was formed in 1739 and is the earliest extant Presbyterian congregation in Southside Virginia.

Lewis W. Thomas was an architect in Canton, Ohio. His work included the Wood County Courthouse in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He designed the Wood County Courthouse (1899), a Romanesque Revival structure added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 29, 1979.

Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic Presbyterian church and cemetery in Floyd County, Virginia. It was built in 1932, and is one of six "rock churches" founded by Bob Childress and built between 1919 and the early 1950s. The building consists of a one-story, gable-fronted rectangular form with a roughly square, Gothic Revival bell tower centered on the building's front elevation. The building was erected on a concrete block foundation, and has walls of light wood framing covered with a thick quartz and quartzite fieldstone exterior veneer.

It was one of three black churches in Parkersburg and was the oldest black church building in west central West Virginia. The church was located in a neighborhood of late 19th-century wood-frame houses only a block from downtown.

The Morgan Morgan Monument, also known as Morgan Park, is a 1.05-acre (0.4 ha) roadside park in the unincorporated town of Bunker Hill in Berkeley County, West Virginia. It is located along Winchester Avenue and Mill Creek. The park features a granite monument that was erected in 1924 to memorialize Morgan Morgan (1688–1766), an American pioneer of Welsh descent, who was among the earliest European persons to settle permanently within the present-day boundaries of West Virginia.
