Bursa is one of the woredas in the Sidama National Regional state of Ethiopia. Part of the Southern Sidama Zone, Bursa is bordered on the south by Hula, on the west by Aleta Wendo, on the northwest by Wensho, on the northeast by Arbegona, and on the southeast by Bona Zuria. Bursa was separated from Hula woreda.

Demographics

Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the CSA, this woreda has a total population of 103,631, of whom 51,731 are men and 51,900 women; 2,304 or 2.22% of its population are urban dwellers. The majority of the inhabitants were Protestants, with 88.63% of the population reporting that belief, 6.25% observed traditional religions, 2.18% were Catholic, and 1.77% were Muslim. [1]

The Sidama Region is a regional state in southern Ethiopia. It was formed on 18 June 2020 from the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) and transformation of the Sidama Zone after a 98.52% vote in favour of increased autonomy in the 2019 Sidama referendum, making it the newest regional state in the country. Sidama is the name of both the Sidama people and Sidama territory. Sidama is bordered to the south by the Oromia Region, on the west by the Bilate River, which separates it from Wolayita zone in SNNPR, and on the north and east by the Oromia Region. Shebedino is a woreda in Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Shebedino is bordered on the south by Dale, on the west by Boricha, on the north by Awasa Zuria, on the east by Gorche, and on the southeast by Wensho. Towns in Shebedino include Leku. Boricha and Gorche woredas were separated from Shebedino woreda.

Hawassa Zuria is a woreda in Sidama Region, Ethiopia. Located in the Great Rift Valley, Hawassa Zuria is bordered on the south by Shebedino and Boricha, on the west and north by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Wondo Genet. Town of Hawassa and woredas of Wondo Genet and Malga were separated from former Awasa woreda. The rest of this woreda was renamed for Hawassa Zuria.

Arbegona is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone, Arbegona is bordered on the south by Bona Zuria, on the southwest by Bursa, on the northwest by Gorche, on the north by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Bensa. The major town in Arbegona is Arbegona.

Aleta Wendo is one of the woredas in the Sidama Region of Ethiopia. Aleta Wendo is bordered on the south by Dara, on the west by Chuko, on the north by Dale and Wensho, on the east by Bursa, and on the southeast by Hula. The administrative center is Aleta Wendo. Chuko woreda was separated from Aleta Wendo.

Dara is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone, Dara is bordered on the south by the Gedeo Zone and on either side of it by the Oromia Region, on the northwest by Chuko, on the north by Aleta Wendo, and on the northeast by Hula. Hula is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone, Hula is bordered on the south by the Oromia Region, on the west by Dara, on the northwest by Aleta Wendo, on the north by Bursa, and on the east by Bona Zuria. The major town in Hula is Hagere Selam. Woredas of Bursa and Bona Zuria were separated from Hula.

Bensa is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone that extends into the Oromia Region like a peninsula, Bensa is bordered on the south and north by the Oromia Region, with Bona Zuria on the west, Arbegona on the northwest, Chere on the east, and Aroresa on the southeast. The major town in Bensa is Daye.

Aroresa is a woreda in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Located at the eastern tip of the Sidama Zone that extends into the Oromia Region like a peninsula, Aroresa is bordered on the south and southeast by that Region, on the northwest by Bensa, and on the north by Chere. The major town in Aroresa is Mejo. Chere woreda was separated from Aroresa.

Kokosa is one of the Aanaas in the Oromia of Ethiopia. Being part of the West Arsi Zone, Kokosa is bordered on the south and west by the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region, on the north by the Kofele, on the northeast by Dodola, and on the southeast by Nensebo. The administrative center of this woreda is Kokosa; other towns include Diki, Gata, Hebano, Hogiso.

Gorche is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Gorche is bordered on the southwest by Wensho, on the west by Shebedino, on the north by Malga, on the east by the Oromia Region, and on the southeast by Arbegona. Gorche was separated from Shebedino woreda.

Malga is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Malga is bordered on the south by Gorche on the southwest by Shebedino, on the west by Awasa Zuria, on the north by Wondo Genet, and on the east by the Oromia Region. Malga was separated from Awasa woreda.

Wensho is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Wensho is bordered on the southwest by Aleta Wendo, on the west by Dale, on the north by Shebedino, on the northeast by Gorche, and on the southeast by Bursa. Wensho was separated from Dale woreda.

Chere is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone Chere is bordered on the south by Aroresa, on the west by Bensa, and on the north and east by the Oromia Region. Chere was separated from Aroresa woreda.

Bona Zuria is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Sidama Zone, Bona Zuria is bordered on the south by the Oromia Region, on the west by Hula, on the northwest by Bursa, on the north by Arbegona, and on the east by Bensa. The major town in Bona Zuria is Bona. Bona Zuria was separated from Arbegona woreda.

Dila Zuria is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Gedeo Zone, Dila Zuria is bordered on the southwest by Wenago, on the west by the Oromia Region, on the north by the Sidama Zone, and on the southeast by Bule. Dila town is surrounded by Dila Zuria. Dila Zuria was part of Wenago woreda.

Diguna Fango is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Wolayita Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Diguna Fango is bordered on the southwest by Damot Weyde, on the west by Damot Gale, on the north by the Hadiya Zone, on the northeast by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Bilate river, which separates it from Sidama Region. The administrative center of the woreda is Bitena Town; the other major towns in the woreda include Dimtu, Kercheche, and Edo. Diguna Fango was separated from Damot Weyde woreda in 1999 E. C.
