Byomkesh Phire Elo is a 2014 Indian mystery thriller film on Bengali fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi, released on 19 December 2014. The film is directed by Anjan Dutt. This is the third installment of Byomkesh series By Anjan Dutt, serving as a sequel to Byomkesh Bakshi and Abar Byomkesh . [2] The film is based on Beni Sanghar by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.

Plot

Benimadhab (Biswajit Chakraborty), a rich businessman is under the impression that someone is trying to kill him, but is not able to find out who. He appoints Byomkesh (Abir Chatterjee) to find out. While Byomkesh starts investigating (with his sidekick Ajit (Saswata Chatterjee) narrating the events), Benimadhab is murdered. The inquest into this gruesome act reveals some dark secrets of Benimadhab's family members.

The next installment of this series starring Jisshu Sengupta as Byomkesh Bakshi instead, released the following year on 16 October. It is based on Kohen Kobi Kalidas by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay and titled as Byomkesh Bakshi once again. [3] [4]

Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay was an Indian Bengali-language writer. He was actively involved with Bengali cinema as well as Bollywood. The creator of the Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Sharadindu composed stories of a wide array of varieties including: novels, short stories, crime and detective stories, plays and screenplays. He wrote historical fictions like Kaler Mandira, Gourmollar, Tumi Sandhyar Megh, Tungabhadrar Teere, Chuya-Chandan, Maru O Sangha, Sadashib series and stories of the unnatural with the recurring character Baroda. Jisshu Sengupta Indian actor

Jisshu Ujjwal Sengupta is an Indian actor, producer, television presenter and anchor who predominantly works in Bengali cinema, in addition to a few Hindi and Telugu language films. Sengupta made his debut through a Bengali TV series, Mahaprabhu where he portrayed the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; the role gained him much recognition. Subsequently, he made his film debut with Priyojon (1997), which became a debacle at the box office. In 2002, he played Tagore in Sukanta Roy's ambitious venture Chelebela alongside Debashree Roy playing Kadambari Devi. following which he appeared in a spate of critically and commercially unsuccessful projects. He made his Bollywood debut with Shyam Benegal's National Award winning film Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero (2004). A turning point came in his career when he collaborated with Rituparno Ghosh for the latter's Abohomaan, which earned him critical acclaim. His subsequent collaborations with Ghosh for films which include Noukadubi and Shob Charitro Kalponik brought him a higher degree of critical and commercial success. Sengupta's collaborations with other directors for films such as Jaatishwar enabled him to become one of the most sought out actors in Bengali cinema.

Neel Dutt is an Indian composer and singer from Kolkata. He received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction from the Govt. of India in 2012 for the soundtrack of the Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. Dutt is the third person from West Bengal to win the Best Music Direction award. Referring himself as "truth-seeker" or Satyanweshi in the stories, Bakshi is known for his proficiency with observation, logical reasoning, and forensic science which he uses to solve complicated cases, usually murders occurred in Kolkata and Dhaka. Bakshi, Initially appearing in the 1932 story Satyanweshi, the character's popularity immensely increased in West Bengal and other parts of India and Bangladesh.

The West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role is given yearly by the WBFJA as a part of its annual West Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards for Bengali films, to recognize the best actor of the previous year.
