Los Guerreros Laguneros is a lucha libre stable based in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The stable was created in 2001 and has, since its inception, been led by Último Guerrero and has been the top rudo stable in CMLL. Los Guerreros Laguneros currently consists of Último Guerrero, his younger brother Gran Guerrero and Stuka Jr.
José Gutiérrez Hernández, better known by his ring name Último Guerrero, is a Mexican luchador, who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He is not related to the lucha libre legend Gory Guerrero or any of his children; "Guerrero" in this case is the Spanish word for warrior and not the surname of the character. On September 19, 2014, Último Guerrero lost a Lucha de Apuestas match to Atlantis, after which he was forced to unmask and reveal his birth name.
Atlantis is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) where he performs as a Técnico and is one of the longest-tenured luchador in CMLL history. Atlantis was trained by Diablo Velasco, made his in-ring debut in 1983 and has always wrestled under the ring name Atlantis, named after the sunken city of Atlantis. Atlantis has held a large number of professional wrestling championships over the years, both in Mexico and in Japan, both individually and as a tag team. He has also won the mask of several prominent wrestlers through his career including Kung Fu, Villano III, Último Guerrero and La Sombra.
Ramón Ibarra Rivera, better known by his ring name Volador Jr., is a Mexican luchador, who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He portrays a técnico wrestling character and is considered one of the top level técnicos in the promotion. He is the son of Super Parka, and his ring name refers to his father's previous gimmick, Volador. Ibarra is the nephew of the original La Parka, the cousin of El Hijo de L.A. Park and the uncle of Flyer; he is also related to a number of other luchadors in the Ibarra family.
Mario Alberto González, better known by his ring name Rey Cometa, is a Mexican luchador, currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Rey Cometa first gained national exposure when he worked for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) from 2005 until 2008. In AAA, he was a part of the group Real Fuerza Aérea, consisting of young high flying wrestlers. As is usual with masked wrestlers in Mexico, Cometa's real name was not a matter of public record until he lost his mask in a match in September 2012. With his brother Espíritu Negro as Los Atrapa Sueños, they are one-time Mexican National Tag Team Champions and one-time Mexican National Trios Champions in their first reign. He is also a former holder of the Mexican National Welterweight Championship.

The CMLL Anniversary Show series is the longest-running annual professional wrestling show, starting in 1934. The event was also billed as Juicio Final, or "Final Justice", an event that CMLL has held previously in 1990, 1991, 2000, 2001 and 2005.
La Peste Negra was a Mexican lucha librerudo (villainous) stable in the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion. The core of the group is the Casas wrestling family, which includes members Negro Casas and El Felino and former members Heavy Metal and Princesa Blanca. The group is rounded out by Mr. Niebla and rookies Bárbaro Cavernario and Herodes, Jr. The group was founded in July 2008 when Mr. Niebla returned to CMLL after working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The group has consistently been used at the main event and semi-main event level in CMLL. Their motto is "be heinous and stinky"

Homenaje a Dos Leyendas (2013) was a professional wrestling supercard show event, scripted and produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The Dos Leyendas show took place on March 15, 2013 in CMLL's main venue, Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The event was to honor and remember CMLL founder Salvador Lutteroth, who died in March 1987. Starting in 1999 CMLL honored not just their founder during the show, but also a second lucha libre legend, making it their version of a Hall of Fame event. For the 2013 show CMLL commemorated the life and career of wrestler and lucha film star Rayo de Jalisco Sr. This was the 15th March show held under the Homenaje a Dos Leyendas name, having previously been known as Homenaje a Salvador Lutteroth from 1996 to 1998.
The CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles 2013 or "National Incredible Pairs Tournament 2013" was the fourth of a series of Lucha Libre tournaments for Tag Teams traditionally held early in the year. The tournament was based on the Lucha Libre Parejas Increíbles match type where two wrestlers of opposite allegiance, portraying either villains, referred to as "Rudos" in Lucha Libre wrestling terminology or fan favorites, or "tecnicos". At times some of the team members were part of a pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines with each other. The tournament was won by the team of La Sombra and Volador Jr.

In October 2014 the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) held a total of five CMLL Super Viernes shows on Friday nights as there were no special events to replace their regular Friday night shows. Some of the matches from Super Viernes were taped for CMLL's weekly shows that air on television in Mexico in the following week. The first and second Super Viernes show in October featured the first and final rounds of the La Copa Junior VIP tournament, the second such tournament of 2014, which featured higher ranking wrestlers than the January 1, 2014 version. In the end Máximo defeated Mephisto to win the tournament. The October 31st Super Viernes saw the return of L.A. Park, who had not worked for CMLL since 2008, along with his son El Hijo de L.A. Park.
August started out with the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) holding a special major event called Juicio Final on Friday August 1 instead of their traditional Friday night CMLL Super Viernes show, but for the remaining four Fridays they held their traditional Super Viernes show, CMLL's main weekly show. The shows focused both on continuing storylines from Juicio Final as well as storylines building interest for their next show, the CMLL 81st Anniversary Show. At the Juicio Final show long time rivals Atlantis and Último Guerrero finally agreed to a Lucha de Apuestas, or bet match, for their wrestling masks, which they promoted as La Lucha del siglo. The shows also furthered issues between the trio known as Los Ingobernables and their continuing rivalry with Negro Casas and his team known as La Peste Negra as well as Shocker building towards a match at the 81st Anniversary Show. The August 8 Super Viernes featured the only championship match of the month as Dragón Rojo Jr. successfully defended the CMLL World Middleweight Championship against rival Rey Escorpión, continuing the feud between the two that started when Dragón Rojo Jr. left a group known as Los Revolucionarios del Terror, a group led by Rey Escorpión. August also saw the annual Universal Championship return as CMLL held the two first rounds on the 15th and 22nd. Former Universal Champions La Sombra and Último Guerrero both qualified for the finals and in the end Guerrero won, making him the first ever two time Universal Champion, The August 22, 2014 Super Viernes marked the first Super Viernes show where El Sagrado worked as a heel (referred to as a "Rudo" in Mexico when he teamed up with Misterioso Jr. and El Terrible, losing to the team of Blue Panther, Rey Cometa and Sagrado's rival Fuego.

The special edition of CMLL's Super Viernes show honored CMLL wrestler Atlantis for reaching his 35th anniversary as a professional wrestler.
