Sin Piedad (Spanish for "No Mercy" or "No Pity", not to be confused with a similarly-titled series of PPV's hosted by WWE) is the collective name of a series of annual lucha libre , or professional wrestling major show promoted by Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The Sin Piedad show is CMLL's end of the year show, held in December. The first show held under the Sin Piedad took place in 2000, although CMLL has traditionally held a major event in December before then. Sin Piedad has been held eleven times so far, with the end of years event in 2005 billed as Juicio Final ("Final Justice") and then 2009 event billed as Sin Salida ("No Escape") instead. In 2008 Sin Pidead was held in August, with no December show being held at all.

Event history

The very first Sin Piedad event produced under that name took place on December 15, 2000 in Arena México, in Mexico City, replacing their regularly produced Friday night CMLL Super Viernes ("Super Friday") show. [1] All subsequent Sin Piedad shows have taken place on Friday nights and all in Arena México, CMLL's "home arena". As of the 2012 show a total of 145 wrestlers have competed in 66 matches spread out over the 11 shows. 115 males 15 female and 15 Mini-Estrella competitors have worked the Sin Piedad shows. Atlantis is the wrestlers with the most Sin Piedad matches, ten in total or 91% of all shows so far. Marcela is the female wrestler with most matches, five in total, and Pierrothito is the most frequently featured Mini-Estrella with four matches in total. Demus 3:16 has worked under Sin Piedad shows two different ring names, Pequeño Damián 666 and Demus 3:16, while El Sagrado also worked a Sin Piedad show under his previous identity Genético. 77 wrestlers have only wrestled one Sin Pidedad match so far. [Note 1] The 11 shows has hosted 66 matches so far, six on each except for the 2003 show which only had 5 and the 2008 show which had 7 matches.

Twelve of the thirteen shows have featured one or more Lucha de Apuestas , or bet matches, the most prestigious match form in lucha libre. Only the 2012 event did not feature a Luchas de Apuesta match at all and the 2008 Sin Piedad was the only other show to not have a Luchas de Apuestas in the main event, but had one in the semi-main event instead. [2] [3] There has been a total of 16 Luchas de Apuestas matches in Sin Piedad history, with several shows having two such matches. In total three wrestlers lost their masks as a result of a Sin Piedad match; Pequeño Black Warrior, Mictlán and Ángel Azteca. [Note 1] Sixteen wrestlers in thirteen matches, three tag team matches and eight individual matches, have had their hair shaved off as a result of their Sin Piedad matches; El Felino, Mr. Águila, La Amapola, Black Warrior, Rey Bucanero (twice), Kenzo Suzuki, Marco Corleone, Pierroth (twice), Vampiro Canadiense, Brazo de Plata, Emilio Charles Jr., Cien Caras, Super Parka and Máscara Año 2000. [Note 1] Sin Piedad has hosted six championship matches, with three championship changes and three successful defenses. [Note 1] There have been two tournament finals held. first in 2003 the final for a tournament to determine the next holders of the Mexican National Trios Championship. in 2012 the main event of the show was the finals of the 2012 La Copa Junior Tournament Final. The 2008 Sin Piedad was the seventh event under that name that CMLL promoted as their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event was Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match between Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr. and Dr. Wagner Jr. and the team of Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla and Rey Bucanero. The show also featured two Lucha de Apuesta matches, the first one saw La Amapola and Lady Apache put their hair on the line. The second match saw Dragón Rojo Jr. and Mictlán both risk their masks. Sin Piedad (2007) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), which took place on December 7, 2007 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The 2007 Sin Piedad was the sixth event under that name that CMLL promoted as their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event of Sin Piedad was originally supposed to be a tag team Lucha de Apuesta, hair vs. hair match between the teams of Shocker and Rey Bucanero and Black Warrior teaming with Lizmark Jr. but in the week before the show the partners were switched around to a relevos increíbles match where a Tecnico teams up with a "villain" so that Shocker teamed with Lizmark Jr. and Rey Bucanero teamed with Black Warrior. In the end Shocker forced Black Warrior to submit while Lizmark Jr. pinned Rey Bucanero to win the match. Following the match Rey Bucanero and Black Warrior were both shaved bald. The undercard featured a very intense singles match between L.A. Park and Perro Aguayo Jr. that had begun when L.A. Park returned to CMLL some months earlier and involved Aguayo Jr.'s group Los Perros del Mal. Los Perros ended up costing their leader the match as they attacked LA Park during the third and final match, causing a disqualification. The featured four additional matches, all Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team matches with no major storyline build to it.

Humberto Sánchez Medorio is a Mexican luchadorEnmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Pequeño Black Warrior, or Pequeño Warrior. Sánchez works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), in their Mini-Estrella division as a smaller version of wrestler Black Warrior. Sánchez previously worked for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) as Mini Psicosis, a smaller version of the wrestler Psicosis. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Sánchez has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, which is what separates the Mexican Mini-Estrella from traditional Midget wrestling as practiced in the United States and other places.

Javier Cortes Sánchez is a Mexican Luchador, or professional wrestler who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in their Mini-Estrella division. Cortés is better known under the ring name Shockercito, a mascota version of wrestler Shocker. Cortés was originally an enmascarado, (masked) character, but was forced to unmask after losing a Lucha de Apuesta, or bet match, on January 11, 2009. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Cortés has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, which is what separates the Mexican Mini-Estrella from traditional Midget wrestling as practiced in the United States among other places.

Pequeño Violencia is a Mexican Luchador who has worked in the Mexican Mini-Estrella division since his debut in 1990. As Pequeño Violencia he wrestles as a smaller version of professional wrestler Violencia. He previously wrestled under the ring name El Fierito, a smaller version of wrestler La Fiera. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, which is what separates the Mexican Mini-Estrella from traditional Midget wrestling as practiced in the United States and other places.

La Peste Negra was a Mexican lucha librerudo (villainous) stable in the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion. The core of the group is the Casas wrestling family, which includes members Negro Casas and El Felino and former members Heavy Metal and Princesa Blanca. The group is rounded out by Mr. Niebla and rookies Bárbaro Cavernario and Herodes, Jr. The group was founded in July 2008 when Mr. Niebla returned to CMLL after working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The group has consistently been used at the main event and semi-main event level in CMLL. Their motto is "be heinous and stinky"

<i>Los Invasores</i> Professional wrestling stable

Los Invasores was a Mexican lucha libre, or professional wrestling group, referred to as a stable in wrestling terms, working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The group was portrayed as a group of "outsiders" invading CMLL, but in fact they all worked full-time for CMLL. The group was composed mainly of former Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestlers and was led by Mr. Águila.

Sin Piedad (2010) was a professional wrestling major show produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on December 3, 2010 in CMLL's home arena Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The 2010 Sin Piedad was the eight event under that name that CMLL promoted as their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event of the evening featured a Lucha de Apuestas, hair vs. hair match, that was a continuation of the "CMLL vs. Los Invasores" storyline as CMLL representative Rey Bucanero defeated Invasore Co-Captain Mr. Águila, forcing him to have his hair shaved off after the match. Sin Piedad (2011) was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), which took place on December 16, 2011, in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico and replaced CMLL's regular Friday night show Super Viernes. The 2011 Sin Piedad was the tenth event under that name that CMLL promoted as their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event of the show centered around a long running storyline between Blue Panther and the Casas wrestling family, represented by El Felino in this instance. The two wrestled in a Lucha de Apuesta, hair vs. hair match where the loser of the match would be forced to have all his hair shaved off. The show featured four two out of three falls six-man tag team match and one tag team match with representatives from CMLL's Mini-Estrella division.

Estrellita is the ring name of Bibiana Ochoa Barradas, a Mexican luchadora, or female professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a tecnico wrestling character. Estrellita worked for AAA for over 10 years.

Sin Piedad (2012) was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), which took place on December 14, 2012 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico and replaced CMLL's regular Friday night show Super Viernes. The 2012 Sin Piedad was the eleventh event under that name that CMLL has promoted their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event of the show was the finals of the 2012 2012 La Copa Junior Tournament between La Sombra and Tama Tonga, both second-generation wrestlers. The 2002 Sin Piedad was the third event under that name that CMLL promoted as their last major show of the year, always held in December. The main event was a traditional two-out-of-three falls Lucha de Apuestas, or bet match between Rey Bucanero and Vampiro Canadiense where both wrestlers risked their hair on the outcome of the match. The show also featured Shocker defending the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship against Último Guerrero and four additional matches.

<i>CMLL Sin Salida</i> Mexican professional wrestling supercard show series

Sin Salida is the collective name of a series of intermittently major professional wrestling, or Lucha Libre, shows held by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). To date CMLL has held six shows under the Sin Salida date. The main event of each of the shows has featured one or more wrestlers putting their hair on the line in a Lucha de Apuesta, or bet match. In 2009 and 2010 the theme of the main event was "Mexico vs. Japan" as CMLL regulars faced off against wrestlers from CMLL's partner promotion in Japan New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and marked the end of extended tours for Yujiro Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito and Taichi Ishikari. The show replaced CMLL's regular Friday night show Super Viernes. The 2016 Sin Piedad was the twelfth event under that name that CMLL has promoted, the first one to be held on New Year's Day.
