Sin Salida (Spanish for "No Escape") was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on December 4, 2009. The main event of the event was a Lucha de Apuestas , hair vs. hair match between the teams of El Texano Jr. and El Terrible against No Limit (Yujiro and Naito), which was the latest highlight of a "Mexico vs. Japan" storyline that CMLL has presented since the summer of 2009. Also on the show was a match for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship as reigning champions Volador Jr. and La Sombra defends against Los Hijos del Averno (Mephisto and Ephesto). The show featured four additional matches, three six-man, two out of three falls, tag team matches that is the most common match form in CMLL, and one Relampago or Lightning match, a one fall match between Mini-Estrella Mascarita Dorada and Pequeño Damián 666. Production

Background

The Mexican wrestling company Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (Spanish for "World Wrestling Council"; CMLL) has held a number of major shows over the years using the moniker Sin Salida ("No Ext" or "No Escape"). CMLL has intermittently held a show billed specifically as Sin Salida since 2009, primarily using the name for their "end of the year" show in December, although once they held a Sin Piedad show in August as well. All Sin Salida shows have been held in Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico which is CMLL's main venue, its "home". [3] Traditionally CMLL holds their major events on Friday Nights, which means the Sin Salida shows replace their regularly scheduled Super Viernes show. [3] The 2009 Sin Salida show was the first show to use the name.

Storylines

The event featured six professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds, plots and storylines. Wrestlers were portrayed as either heels (referred to as rudos in Mexico, those that portray the "bad guys") or faces (técnicos in Mexico, the "good guy" characters) as they followed a series of tension-building events, which culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

Aftermath

No Limit returned to Japan a few weeks after losing the Apuesta match to El Texano Jr. and El Terrible. Upon their return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) for their Wrestle Kingdom IV in Tokyo Dome show they defeated Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) and Bad Intentions (Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Their first defense of the title was on February 14, against the team of Texano Jr. and El Terrible who travelled to Japan for the match. [4] After departing CMLL, Naito made a return in January, promising to work in Mexico between tours with NJPW. The feud between Texano Jr. and El Terrible has since been downplayed to the extent that the team has at times teamed with La Ola Amarilla's newest representative Taichi. [5]

The storyline between the Brazos family (Brazo de Plata and Máximo mainly) and La Peste Negra saw Máximo and Mr. Niebla being teamed for CMLL's CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increibles tournament due to the rules of the tournament pairing rudos and tecnicos together. The team worked together so well that they two worked a series of matches together under the nickname La Peste Con Amour ("The Love Plague"), hinting at Máximo turning rudo. The storyline abruptly ended in February when Mr. Niebla stopped appearing on CMLL booking.

Infierno en el Ring 2009 was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on July 31, 2009 in Arena Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico. The show consisted of five matches, the main event being the traditional CMLL Infierno en el Ring multi-man Steel Cage match where all the competitors risked their hair. This year 15 man participated in the steel cage match, which was the highest number ever for a CMLL Lucha de Apuestas. The match saw Naito pin Toscano to win the match; afterwards Toscano's hair was shaved off in the middle of the ring. The undercard saw three Six-man tag team matches, which is the most common match format in Lucha Libre.

Sin Salida was a professional wrestling major event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on June 6, 2010, in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The event was centered on the storyline between CMLL wrestlers and a group called Los Invasores, a group portraying an "invading force". The event featured six matches, where four of the six matches featured the Invasores group of wrestlers. CMLL usually hold their major events on Friday Nights, but in this case CMLL chose to hold the event on Sunday, running opposite their rival Asistencia Asesoría y Administración's Triplemanía XVIII event that took place on the same night in Mexico City. The main event was scheduled to be a Lucha de Apuestas, hair vs. hair match between Taichi vs. Máximo.

The Promociones Gutiérrez 1st Anniversary Show was a professional wrestling supercard event promoted by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Promociones Gutierrez, CMLL's local promoter in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The event took place on July 12, 2010 at the Plaza de Toros Lauro Luis Longoria bullring and commemorated the 1st anniversary of Promociones Gutierrez. The focal point of the event was a Ruleta de la Muerte tournament, in which five teams of Parejas Incredibles participate in an elimination match to see which team would have to face off in a Lucha de Apuestas, mask vs. mask match. The team of Místico and El Oriental lost the Ruleta de la Muerte and was forced to wrestle each other immediately after the Ruleta match. In the end Místico defeated El Oriental to unmask him.

CMLL <i>Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles</i> (2010) 2010 Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre tournament

The CMLL Torneo Nacional De Parejas Increíbles 2010 or "National Incredible Pairs Tournament 2010" was the first of a series of Lucha Libre tournaments for Tag Teams traditionally held early in the year. The tournament was based on the Lucha Libre Parejas Increíbles match type where two wrestlers of opposite allegiance, portraying either villains, referred to as "Rudos" in Lucha Libre wrestling terminology or fan favorites, or "Technicos". At times some of the team members were part of a pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines with each other. There were some exceptions to the "Tecnico teams with a Rudo" rule, but the majority of the teams has been actual Parejas Increíbles. In this tournament each team represented the region where they were born or where they learned to wrestle which also excluded any non-Mexican competitors from the tournament. The teams represented the four most important regions of Lucha Libre in Mexico Mexico, Guadalajara, Jalisco, the La Laguna Region and Monterrey, Nuevo León. The team of Máscara Dorada and Atlantis won the 2010 tournament.

<i>Los Hijos del Infierno</i> Professional wrestling stable

Los Hijos del Averno was the most well known name of a Mexican professional wrestling group, called a stable in the Mexican Lucha Libre promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The group was originally formed in 2006 under the name La Triadad del Terror and has also been briefly known as Los Jauria del Terror. In 2015 the group was renamed Los Hijos del Infierno and currently consists of Mephisto, Ephesto and Luciferno and works as a rudo faction. The group was led by Averno, whom the group was named after, until Averno left CMLL in 2014.

CMLL 80th Anniversary Show Mexican professional wrestling supercard show

The CMLL 80th Anniversary Show was a professional wrestling event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on September 13, 2013, in CMLL's home arena Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of CMLL, the oldest professional wrestling promotion in the world. CMLL's anniversary show is their biggest, most important show of the year, comparable to the Super Bowl for the National Football League or WrestleMania for WWE. The CMLL Anniversary Show series is the longest-running annual professional wrestling show, starting in 1934.

Vangelis is the ring name of a Mexican luchador known for his work for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He portrays a rudo wrestling character. He has formerly worked for AAA in Mexico, Dragon Gate in Japan and extensively on the Mexican independent circuit. Sin Salida (2015) was a major professional wrestling event produced by the Mexican Lucha Libre-promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on Friday night July 17, 2015, in CMLL's main venue, Arena México, nicknamed "the cathedral of Lucha Libre" in lieu of CMLL's normally scheduled Super Viernes show. The main event was a best two-out-of-three falls Lucha de Apuestas, or bet match where both Rey Escorpión and Último Guerrero "bet" their hair on the outcome of the match and the loser was forced to have all his hair shaved off afterwards as per Lucha Libre traditions. The show also hosted two first-round matches of CMLL's 2015 En Busca de un Ídolo tournament where Esfinge wrestled Canelo Casas and Delta was supposed to face Blue Panther Jr., but wrestled Hechicero instead. The show contained four additional matches. Although it was not announced ahead of time, the first six matches of the show were broadcast live on the Terra Networks' home page for free.
