The town is known for its luxury golf courses, shopping, real estate, and restaurant scene. According to the 2010 census, the population of the town was 12,820. Despite its relatively small area and population compared to other municipalities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Paradise Valley is home to eight full-service resorts, making it one of Arizona's premier tourist destinations. It is also known for expensive real estate.

Arcadia is a neighborhood in the areas of Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona. It is bounded 44th Street to 68th Street and Camelback Road to the canal. Arcadia contains well-kept homes on large lots; these homes command relatively high property values. Built on former citrus groves, Arcadia is known for well-irrigated, mature landscaping. Several yards prominently feature orange, lemon and grapefruit trees as reminders of the area's past; the area used to be occupied by citrus farmers from 1919 to the mid-1950s. In the mid-1950s, the rest of Phoenix caught up with the farms and the area suburbanized with characteristic ranch homes on large lots. Arcadia High School serves and derives its name from the neighborhood. Arcadia is frequently listed as the top place to live in all of Phoenix Metro due to its ideal location for both work and fun, vibrant food / culture, walk-ability, and plush landscape. It is also just south of the desired hiking destinations of Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak. Much of Phoenix's cycling scene pedals through this neighborhood, as Campbell / Lafayette is one of the main Phoenix cycling corridors.

Sitting on over 4.31 sq. mi. of the 85086 Zip Code, And the (623) Area Code, forming the southern boundary of Anthem and the western boundary of Cave Creek: about 30 miles (48 km) north of downtown Phoenix. Located east of the I-17, Desert Hills is roughly bounded by 35th Avenue to the west, Desert Hills Drive to the north, 28th Street to the east. The majority of Desert Hills sits north of Carefree Highway, however, a small portion resides south from Central Avenue to the west to 14th Street to the east: and south for one mile to Dove Valley Road. Note a community known as Tramonto, falls within these boundaries but is considered part of Phoenix.

It is the city's most acclaimed neighborhood, largely due to its location, near the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. The local landmark was opened on 23 February 1929. The Resort is surrounded by two 18 hole championship golf courses built in 1928 and 1977 along with some of the most exclusive homes in the Valley of the Sun. The greater area is known as a financial district surrounded by upscale shopping, dining, and for its quality of life. The financial district is clustered with business and residential mid-rise tower buildings and gated neighborhoods along a line known as the "Camelback Corridor" which extends from Central Avenue, East on Camelback Road into Scottsdale.
