Raül Fernández Miró, better known as Raül Refree, is a Spanish music producer, musician and composer.
Alba Farelo Solé, known professionally as Bad Gyal, is Spanish singer, songwriter, DJ and model. Known for her distinctive overall use of Auto-Tune, Bad Gyal has developed a strong cult following ever since her musical career began in 2016, with her uploading an interpretation of Rihanna's "Work", sung in Catalan, to YouTube. She continued to make music as an independent artist, releasing records like "Indapanden", "Jacaranda" and the popular "Fiebre". Antón Álvarez Alfaro, known professionally as C. Tangana, is a Spanish rapper, singer and songwriter. He began his musical career while in high school, rapping under the pseudonym Crema and releasing a seven-track EP titled Él Es Crema (2005). He gained recognition in Spain as a member of the band Agorazein. In 2016, Tangana began performing as a solo act under the stage name C. Tangana.

Nominations were revealed on December 19, 2019 during a press conference where they stated that "this award ceremony is considered the successor of the Premios Amigo and the Premios de la Música" which were canceled in 2007 and 2012 due to the Spanish economical crisis as well as the lack of strength of the Spanish musical industry. Thus, the fact that this award show were able to happen symbolizes the revival of the Spanish musical industry after a long period of weakness and irrelevance.

The song is a reimagined work of "Cuando Yo Me Muera", performed by Manolo Caracol and Melchor de Marchena, and "El Querer Que Yo Te Tengo", performed by Manolo Frenegal. However, as the authors' rights of both works have expired, the lyricism of "De Plata" is considered of public domain. It is a new flamenco song in the form of a seguidilla, with aggressive guitar chords and elements of alternative R&B.
