Caraybamba District is one of the seventeen districts of the Aymaraes Province in Peru. [1]

Geography

One of the highest peaks of the district is Pisti at approximately 5,100 m (16,700 ft). Other mountains are listed below: [2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (54.06%) learnt to speak in childhood, 45.78% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [3]
