"Catch Your Wave" is a song by American power pop band the Click Five. It was released on November 8, 2005, as the second single from their debut studio album Greetings from Imrie House .

Background and composition

"Catch Your Wave" was released as a single and serviced to contemporary hit radio on November 8, 2005. The digital release was released on November 22, and contains a cover of Til Tuesday's "Voices Carry". [1] The track was written Ben Romans, Joe Guese and Ethan Mentzer, while production was handled by Mike Denneen. [2]

Live performances

The group performed the song at the 2005 MLS Cup half-time show. [3] They also performed at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in November 2005, performing the track. [4]

Critical reception

Billboard gave the song a positive review writing, "Witty, metaphorically blissful lyrics are blended with guitar-driven hooks and lush harmonies, a perfect recipe to quench pop-parched airwaves," as well as noting, "This flawless pop gem, [taken from the quintet's Greetings From Imrie House ], is sure to follow in the footsteps of previous top 20 'Just the Girl'." [5]

Music video

The music video for "Catch Your Wave" premiered on November 7, 2005, via MTV. It was directed by Vem. [6] The video debuted on the top ten on the MTV Total Request Live countdown and featured on CBS to promote the third season of Two and a Half Men. [1]

The Click Five is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The original members, most of them students at Berklee College of Music, started on January 1, 2004, and played in various local venues. They then quickly got the attention of talent scout Wayne Sharp. The Click Five made their first recording, a two-song demo session, in early 2004 after successful local touring. They released their debut studio album Greetings from Imrie House in 2005. After vocalist Eric Dill left the group, he was replaced by Kyle Patrick who debuted on their second studio album Modern Minds and Pastimes in 2007. Their third studio album, TCV, was released in Asia in 2010 and to the rest of the world in early 2011. The group broke up in 2013. The band is set to return in 2025 to perform at the Playback Music Festival.
