Cathal Byrne (born 1991/1992) is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has been a Senator for the Cultural and Educational Panel since January 2025. [2] [3]
He was a member of Wexford County Council for the Enniscorthy area from May 2019 to January 2025. [4] He unsuccessfully contested the Wexford constituency at the 2024 general election. [1]
He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an degree in Law and Business,and a Masters in Law. [1] He is a qualified solicitor. [1]

There are 60 seats in the Seanad:43 were elected on five vocational panels by serving politicians,for which polling closed on 30 March 2020;6 were elected in two university constituencies,for which polling closed on 31 March 2020;and 11 were nominated by the Taoiseach on 27 June 2020. It will remain in office until the close of poll for the 27th Seanad,which is scheduled for 30 January 2025.
