The CICERO Center for International Climate Research (abbreviated CICERO; Norwegian : CICERO Senter for klimaforskning) is an interdisciplinary research centre for climate research and environmental science/environmental studies in Oslo. CICERO was established by the Government of Norway in 1990. It is organised as an independent foundation and is affiliated with the University of Oslo. The current director is Kristin Halvorsen, former Minister of Finance. [1]

The red–green coalition was a centre-left coalition of parties in Norway, constituting the Labour Party (Ap), the Socialist Left Party (SV), and the Centre Party (Sp). Unlike many other Red-Green coalitions, the "green" here was the colour of a centrist eurosceptic Nordic agrarian party rather than an actual green political movement. It governed from 2005 until Labour Party leader Jens Stoltenberg resigned his cabinet on 16 October 2013 following the coalition's defeat in the 2013 elections.

Bård Lahn Norwegian environmentalist and writer (born 1983)

Bård Lappegård Lahn is a Norwegian environmentalist and writer. He is a researcher at CICERO Center for international climate research in Oslo, with a research focus on climate politics, sociology, and Science and Technology Studies. He has previously worked as an adviser on international climate policy in the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, and from 2006 to 2008 he was chairman of the environmental NGO Natur og Ungdom. Prior to his leadership he had been deputy chairman since 2003 and an active member of Natur og Ungdom since the mid-1990s.

Haque Nawaz Akhtar Chaudhry is a Pakistani-Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party and 4th Vice President of the Norwegian parliament from 2009 to 2013. He came to Norway from Pakistan in 1982.

Iulie Aslaksen Norwegian economist

Iulie Margrethe Nicolaysen Aslaksen is a Norwegian economist and Senior Researcher at Statistics Norway. She was a member of the Petroleum Price Board from 1990 to 2000. She is an expert on energy and environmental economics, including petroleum economics, climate policy and economics and sustainable development. She is cand.oecon. from the University of Oslo in 1981 and dr.polit. from 1990. BarentsWatch was launched in May-2012 by Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Støre and Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Lisbeth Berg-Hansen. The information portal provides an overview of activity and knowledge in coastal and sea areas. The system covers sea and coastal areas from Denmark in the south, to Greenland in the west, the North Pole in the north and Novaja Semlja in the east.

Cecilie Mauritzen is a Norwegian oceanographer who studies connections between ocean currents and climate change. She works as a researcher in the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.
