Charan Rajkumar is an Indian actor, director, film producer, and writer who works in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Odia and Hindi movies.

Career

Charan Rajkumar is a versatile actor who is popular for his villainy and character roles in South Indian film industry. Charanrajkumar started his movie career with Kannada movie Parajitha (1982) directed by Siddalingaiah which became commercially hit cinema. [2] Charan Rajkumar is not only an actor, but a producer, music composer and director too. He is popular for his villainy roles in Telugu film industry starting his career in Telugu with Pratighatana (1985), Indrudu Chandrudu (1989) and Karthavyam (1990). He has also acted with Rajinikanth in the Hindi movie Phool Bane Angaray (1991) and Tamil films like Panakkaran (1990), Dharma Dorai (1991), Veera (1994) and Baashha (1995). He had a small but significant role as Anwar Baashha in the film. His character role in Tamil film Gentleman (1993) showed him as a different Charan Raj and he got good applause for his performance in that film. He made his debut as a director in 1999, through the film Annan Thangachi . In this film he acted as the hero as well as did the direction. The film did not hit the box office, though it had a good story. He has also acted as Suriya’s father in the film Vel (2007) with Saranya Ponvannan as his pair. [3]

Controversy

In 2014, Charan Raj was accused of carrying a gun at Sri Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple, Andhra Pradesh. [4]

Pratighatana (transl. Resistance) is a 1985 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by T. Krishna. The film is produced by Ramoji Rao under Ushakiran Movies. The plot follows a woman's fight against corruption and criminalization of politics in India. The film stars Vijayshanti alongside Chandra Mohan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sai Kumar, P. L. Narayana, Charan Raj, Suthi Velu, Rajasekhar, Narra Venkateswara Rao, and Y. Vijaya who appear in supporting roles. Music is composed by K. Chakravarthy.

Komal Mahuvakar, better known by her stage name Rupini, is an Indian actress who has appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu language films during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

K. Chakravarthi was an Indian music director who primarily worked in Telugu cinema. He made his debut in 1971 with Mooga Prema and went on compose music for over 1000 films, predominantly in Telugu language, followed by Kannada. He won two Nandi Awards.

As an actor, he predominantly appears in Kannada films, in addition to Telugu and Tamil films. As a dubbing artist, he has dubbed for over 3500 films, with more than 1000 of those each in Telugu and Tamil, and over 150 in Kannada.
