Charleston is an unincorporated community in Delta County, Texas, United States. [1] According to the Handbook of Texas, [2] its population was estimated at 120 in 2000.
Charleston is located on Farm to Market Road 895, 9 mi (14 km) east of Cooper in southeastern Delta County. Evans Branch and McGuyer Branch border it to the east and west, respectively. [2]
In 1867, the Charleston school district was established, and absorbed into the Cooper Independent School District by 1970. [2]
Hunt County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 99,956. Its county seat is Greenville. The county is named for Memucan Hunt, Jr., the first Republic of Texas Minister to the United States from 1837 to 1838 and the third Texas Secretary of the Navy from 1838 to 1839. Hunt County is located in Northeast Texas, at the eastern edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and the western edge of East Texas. The Cooper River is a mainly tidal river in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The cities of Mt. Short and wide, the river is joined first by the blackwater East Branch and then farther downstream at the tidal Wando River. Almost immediately thereafter, the Cooper River widens into its estuary and unites with the Ashley River to form the Charleston Harbor.

The Delta County Courthouse is a historic, three-story courthouse building in the city of Cooper, in Delta County, Texas, United States. The building is located at 200 West Dallas Avenue, and functions as the meeting place for the county government. The building also houses all of the county records. The county's first courthouse was built in 1873, in Cooper. A courthouse was built to replace the original in 1898. After the Great Depression, the new courthouse was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), helping the community to grow. The building has remained virtually unchanged since.

The Cooper Review is an American weekly newspaper published in Cooper, Texas. It was founded around 1880 by the Hornebeck family as The Cooper Banner; however, through mergers, its history dates to 1873, when The Delta Courier was established. As one of the original businesses in its county that still operates, the paper currently serves the city of Cooper, as well as most of Delta County, and the surrounding areas. The newspaper was recently owned and published by the Butler family of Cooper, Jim and Sally Butler, and edited by Janis Thomas and Cindy Roller. Before the passing of Owner Jim Butler on Saturday, March 6, 2021, the Cooper Review transferred ownership to the Harmon family, originally of Cooper, Karrie Harmon and daughter, Rhandi Allred. The family owned, operated and published the Cooper Review until March 6, 2023, when it was sold to its current Owner and Publisher Ashley Colvin, also of Cooper. Since 2011, it has been a member of the Texas Press Association. The most recent archives of the Cooper Review may be found at the Texas Press Association's website at http://archive.texaspress.com/. The Cooper Review also posts all public notices, as of November 30, 2023, on the Texas Press Association's public notice website at https://www.texaspublicnotices.com/(S )/default.aspx. Liberty Grove is a ghost town in Delta County, Texas, United States. The community was settled by 1854, the year its school opened. The farming community included the school and a cemetery as of 1936. In 1966, the community had about 25 residents. The community's cemetery was relocated in 1989, and the community was subsequently abandoned and flooded by Cooper Lake. A campsite in Cooper Lake State Park bears the community's name.
