Charline Picon (born 23 December 1984) is a French windsurfer who specialized in the Neil Pryde RS:X class. [1] [4] She captured two bronze medals in her respective class at the Windsurfing World Championships (2009 and 2010), and an Olympic title at the 2016 Summer Olympics after attaining a top ten finish at the 2012 Summer Olympics. [5] [6] As of September 2014, Picon is ranked as one of the top ten sailors in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation, following her successes at the European and World Championships and at the Sailing World Cup series. [7]

Picon competed in the women's RS:X class at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London by finishing eighth and receiving a berth from the World Championships in Perth, Western Australia. [8] [9] Having awarded a guaranteed slot in the medal race from the opening series, Picon sailed through the final stretch to edge out Italian windsurfer and 2000 Olympic champion Alessandra Sensini and Canada's top favorite Nikola Girke for an eighth spot in a net score of 89 points. [10] [11]

At the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain, Picon sailed against an immense fleet of windsurfers to pick up a gold medal in the women's RS:X class, accumulating a net score of 27 points, and securing a spot on the French squad to compete for her second Olympics. [12] [13]

Picon took up windsurfing aged 11. She is a physiotherapist by education. Until 2006 she competed in the Aloha and Mistral classes, and only later changed to RS:X. During the 2008–09 season she had a shoulder surgery and returned to competitions in September 2009. [3]

Sean O'Brien is an Australian professional windsurfer competing on the PWA World Tour and the International Formula Windsurfing Class Tour. He was ranked 7th in the World in Formula Windsurfing in 2012 and has won 11 Australian Windsurfing Titles across three racing disciplines, the most of any Australian windsurfer.

Irina Emilova Konstantinova-Bontemps is a Bulgarian windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. She represented Bulgaria in four editions of the Olympic Games, and has also placed outside the top ten in both Mistral and RS:X classes. In 2006, Konstantinova married French windsurfer, two-time world champion, and later 2008 Olympic silver medalist Julien Bontemps before she relocated to France, and trained for ASPTT Nantes. As of September 2013, Konstantinova is ranked no. 88 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Karel Lavický is a Czech windsurfer, who specializes in Neil Pryde RS:X class. As of September 2013, he is ranked no. 62 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Sigrid Rondelez is a Belgian windsurfer, who specialized in Mistral and Neil Pryde RS:X classes. She represented Belgium in three editions of the Olympic Games, and was a top eight finalist at the 2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Cadiz, Spain. Before her sporting career ended in 2012, Rondelez trained for Side Shore Surfers Club in De Panne under her head coach, former Dutch windsurfer, and 2008 Olympian Casper Bouman.

Holding dual citizenship between Brazil and the United States, Freitas currently resides in Rio de Janeiro, where she sails and trains for the Rio de Janeiro Yacht Club under her personal coach and mentor Lucas Souza. As of September 2013, Freitas is ranked as one of the top ten sailors in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation, following her successes at the South American and World Championships in her home nation.

Ingrid Puusta is an Estonian Olympic windsurfer, who specializes in the Neil Pryde RS:X class. She represented Estonia at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, and trains at Noblessner Yacht Club in Tallinn under her personal coach Matthew Rickard. As of March 2017, Puusta is ranked no. 10 in the world for the RS:X class by the World Sailing.

Hayley Victoria Chan is a Hong Kong windsurfer, who specialised in Neil Pryde RS:X class. She captured a silver medal in windsurfing at the 2010 Asian Games, and later represented Hong Kong at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Chan trains for the Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong under her personal coach Chan Hai Shun. As of September 2013, Chan is ranked fourth in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation, following her successes at the One World Championships in Boracay, Philippines and at the World Championships in Buzios, Brazil.

Diána Klaudia Detre is a Hungarian windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. A two-time Olympian, she has been currently training for Balatonfuredi Yacht Club in Balatonfüred under her coach Christophe Boutet. Detre also came from a traditional pedigree of top-class sailors, as her father Szabolcs Detre, along with his twin brother and daughter's uncle Zsolt Detre, captured a bronze medal in the Flying Dutchman at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. As of September 2013, Detre is ranked no. 79 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Áron Gádorfalvi is a Hungarian windsurfer, who specializes in Mistral and Neil Pryde RS:X classes. He represented Hungary in all five editions of the Olympic Games since 1996, and has been training at Axon SE, Gradus SK, and Balatonfuredi Yacht Club in Balatonfured for most of his sporting career under personal coaches Lorand Utassy and László Ficsór. As of September 2013, Gádorfalvi is ranked no. 48 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Federico Esposito is an Italian windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. He was born in Piombino. He represented Italy at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and has been currently training for Fiamma Oro Sport Club under his personal coach and mentor Adriano Stella. As of September 2013, Esposito is ranked no. 45 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Makoto Tomizawa is a Japanese windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. He represented Japan in two editions of the Olympic Games and has been currently training for Kanto Auto Works Sailing Team in Kanagawa Prefecture under his personal coach Kazuto Seki. As of September 2013, Tomizawa is ranked no. 42 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Daniel Alejandro Flores Peréz is a Venezuelan windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. He represented Venezuela at the 2012 Summer Olympics and has also been training for Cumaná Windsurf Club under his personal coach and mentor Juan Manuel Moreno. As of September 2013, Flores is ranked no. 31 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.

Emma Wilson is a British windsurfer who won a bronze medal in the RS:X event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She won the RS:X events at the Youth Sailing World Championships in 2016 and 2017, and won medals at the 2018 and 2019 RS:X European Championships, and the 2022 and 2023 IQFoil European Championships. She won her second Olympic bronze medal in the iQFoil at the 2024 Paris Games.

Hélène Noesmoen is a French windsurfer who competes in the IQFoil class. She won the women's events at the 2021 IQFoil World Championships and the 2020, 2021 and 2022 IQFoil European Championships. Noesmoen also won the RS:X event at the 2018 Sailing World Cup in Miami, and multiple junior world championships.
