Chelsea Keolani Hardin (born September 5, 1991) is an American model, public speaker, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2016. She was the first runner-up to Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia at Miss USA 2016.

Early life

Hardin was born on September 5, 1991, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is of Native Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Irish, English, French, and Scandinavian descent. Her father Kevin Hardin is a Hawaiian Airlines pilot, while her mother Christine Mitchell is a real estate agent. [1] Hardin attended the ʻIolani School and later California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. [2] While a university student, she played NCAA Division I women's volleyball. Miss Hawaii USA 2016

Hardin represented East Oahu at Miss Hawaii USA 2016 on November 22, 2015, and was crowned the winner by outgoing titleholder Emma Wo. [4]

Miss USA 2016

On June 5, 2016, Hardin competed in the Miss USA 2016 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. She went on to place as the first runner-up to winner Deshauna Barber of District of Columbia, despite being the favorite to win. [5] [6]

The pageant garnered some controversy due to the question Hardin was asked by the judges during the final question portion of the pageant, which was if she'd vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump during the 2016 United States presidential election. The question was criticized by numerous members of the media for being invasive, while the live audience booed after hearing what Hardin had been asked. [7] [8] [9] [10]

Miss Teen USA 2007 Beauty pageant edition

Miss Teen USA 2007, the 25th Miss Teen USA pageant, was held on August 24, 2007 in Pasadena, California. At the conclusion of the final night of the competition Hilary Cruz of Colorado was crowned Miss Teen USA 2007 by outgoing titleholder Katie Blair of Montana.

The most frequently presented Miss America awards are for preliminary talent and swimsuit. The talent award was introduced in 1936, and the swimsuit award in 1940. In the 2000s, preliminary awards for evening gown and interview were briefly introduced but were discontinued after two years as it was felt that they made the semi-finalists too predictable.

Miss USA 2011

Miss USA 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss USA pageant, was held on the Las Vegas Strip at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Paradise, Nevada on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Rima Fakih of Michigan crowned her successor, Alyssa Campanella of California, at the end of this event. She represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011.

Miss Teen USA 2013, the 31st Miss Teen USA pageant, was held on August 10, 2013 at Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas and was hosted by Australian journalist Karl Jeno Schmid and Miss Teen USA 2003 Tami Farrell. Logan West of Connecticut crowned her successor Cassidy Wolf of California at the end of the event. The 50 states and the District of Columbia competed for the title and the pageant was webcast on the official Miss Teen USA website via Ustream and on Xbox Live.

Miss USA 2013

Miss USA 2013, the 62nd Miss USA pageant, was held on June 16, 2013 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 50 states and the District of Columbia competed for the title and the pageant was televised live on NBC. Outgoing titleholder Nana Meriwether of Maryland crowned her successor Erin Brady of Connecticut at the end of the event. This was Connecticut's first ever Miss USA crown.

Marisa Paige Butler is an American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned both Miss World America 2018 and Miss Earth United States 2021. As a national titleholder, Butler represented the United States at Miss World 2018, placing in the top thirty, and will represent the United States at Miss Earth 2021. Previously, Butler had been crowned Miss Maine USA 2016 and represented Maine at Miss USA 2016, where she was unplaced.

Miss USA 2020, the 69th Miss USA pageant, Originally scheduled to be held in spring 2020, the competition was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later rescheduled for November 9, 2020 at the Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Allie LaForce served as hosts, while Cheslie Kryst and Christian Murphy served as backstage commentators, and Haley Reinhart performed. Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina crowned Asya Branch of Mississippi as her successor at the end of the event. This is Mississippi's first win at the Miss USA pageant. Branch represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant and placed in the Top 21.
