Chemistry is a collaborative extended play (EP) by Nigerian rapper Falz and singer Simi. It was jointly released on October 27,2016,by Bahd Guys Records and X3M Music.
Prior to the release of the EP,it was rumored that both Falz and Simi were dating. The rumours were fueled as a result of their collaborative singles "Jamb Question" and "Soldier". [1] The promotion of the EP saw them release pre-wedding-themed photos on social media before finally announcing the release of the EP in an industry night event,where they jointly performed. [2] [3]

Upon its release,Chemistry was met with positive reviews from mainstream music critics. Chiagoziem Onyekwena of Filter Free Nigeria scored the album 80%,stating:"If the musical currency of love songs is believability,then Chemistry is an extremely rich EP". [4] Oghene Michael of 360 Nobs described the project as an "experiment of the word art". [5] Respected music critic,Joey Akan of Pulse Nigeria highlighted the marketing aspect of the project,stating that the duo "capitalized on the very sentiments of the public to create a product that can be sold for value". [6] He went on to give the EP 4 stars out of 5,describing it as "a celebration of a working relationship that people spend a lifetime trying to find and hold on to". [7]
In a mixed review, BellaNaija 's Adetoye Shokunbi argued that "Chemistry is an album larger than itself",before he went on to notice that "Simi’s continued biting of Bollywood melodies and Falz’predictable Yoruba-accented shtick may raise questions about authenticity and freshness". [8] Taofik Bankole of Nigerian Entertainment Today was critical about the production and arrangement of the EP,describing it as "top notch" and rating it 4 out of 5 stars,stating that,"this project tells us what we already know about Falz and Simi’s music,[....],the world already knows no duo will ever have a better chemistry". [9]

Cobhams Asuquo is a Nigerian musician, producer, and songwriter. After working as Head of Audio Productions at a local label, Questionmark Entertainment, he set up his own recording facility in 2006. He is the former CEO/Head of Productions of CAMP, which he co-managed with Bez Idakula and Stan Iyke.
Olamide Gbenga Adedeji is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record executive. He is regarded as one of the most influential artists in Nigeria and has been pivotal to the creative and commercial success of several Afrobeats music stars, and is consistently praised for his role in elevating street pop to mainstream recognition as a distinct music genre. He records in Yoruba and English. In 2011, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi while signed to Coded Tunes. YBNL, his follow-up album, was released under his label imprint "Yahoo Boy No Laptop", also known as YBNL Nation. The album was supported by the singles "First of All", "Voice of the Street", "Stupid Love", and "Ilefo Illuminati". On 7 November 2013, he released his third studio album Baddest Guy Ever Liveth. The album's singles include "Durosoke" and "Yemi My Lover". On 17 July 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc.
Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter and actor who began his career while in secondary school after forming a group called The School Boys with his friend before his professional career as a music artist began in 2009. Falz became more well-known after releasing the song "Marry Me" featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade.

Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress. Shadrach Adeboye Folarin, professionally referred to as Shaydee, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and vocalist. In 2015, Shaydee was listed on notJustOk's list of "15 Artists to Watch in 2015". He is best known for his hit single titled "Won Gbo Mi", featuring vocal appearance from Wizkid.
Simisola is the eponymous second studio album by Nigerian singer Simi. It was released on September 8, 2017, by X3M Music. The album is the follow-up to her debut album, Ogaju (2008). Simisola received positive reviews from music critics, who praised the creativity and versatility of Simi's exploration of different sounds. Falz's father Femi Falana performed background vocals on the track. "This Is Nigeria" addresses a number of societal issues prevalent in Nigeria, including SARS brutality, codeine abuse and unrestrained killings. The album features collaborations with Demmie Vee, Chillz and Sess. Moral Instruction addresses societal issues such as corrupt politicians, corruption, police brutality, prostitution, social injustice and internet fraud. The album's release was preceded by "Talk", a socio-conscious record that addresses critical events. The cover art for Moral Instruction was created by Nigerian artist Lemi Ghariokwu, a long-time Fela collaborator. The album won Best Rap Album and Album of the Year at The Headies 2019.
