Chetan Morar Patel (born 12 April 1972) is a former English first-class cricketer.
Patel was born at Islington in April 1972. Having initially studied at Loughborough University,Patel later studied at Keble College,Oxford. [1] While studying at Oxford,he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University Cricket Club against Durham at Oxford in 1997. He made eleven appearances for Oxford in that season,including in The University Match against Cambridge University at Lord's. [2] He became the first Oxford bowler to take a hat-trick in first-class cricket in thirty years,a feat he achieved against Warwickshire. [3] With his right-arm medium pace bowling,he took 27 wickets at an average of 46.70; [4] he took one five wicket haul,with figures of 6 for 110 in The University Match. [5]
Following an injury crisis at Hampshire during the 1997 season,which saw Cardigan Connor,Kevan James,Dimitri Mascarenhas,and Stuart Milburn sidelined,Patel made a single first-class appearance against Yorkshire at Portsmouth in the County Championship, [2] debuting alongside Lee Savident. [6] He also made a single appearance in List A one-day cricket for Hampshire,against Middlesex at Lord's in the 1997 Axa Life League. [7] He later made a single one-day appearance for the Middlesex Cricket Board (MCB) against Cumberland in the 1999 NatWest Trophy, [7] having also played for the MCB in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. [8] Outside of cricket,Patel joined Hays in 1997,becoming its managing director for their London City region.
Greville Thomas Scott Stevens was an English amateur cricketer who played for Middlesex,the University of Oxford and England. A leg-spin and googly bowler and attacking batsman,he captained England in one Test match,in South Africa in 1927. He was widely regarded as one of the leading amateur cricketers of his generation who,because of his commitments outside cricket,was unable to fulfil his potential and left the game early.

Paul-Jan Bakker is a Dutch former international cricketer,who also played domestic cricket at first-class and List A level in England for Hampshire from 1986 to 1992,taking 269 wickets across both formats. He later played in the Netherlands inaugural One Day International match in the 1996 World Cup,before retiring shortly after the tournament. In 2007,he briefly succeeded Peter Cantrell as Netherlands coach.

England came off a winter with more Test losses than wins,for the first time since 2002-03,but still attained their best series result in India since 1985. The One Day International series against Pakistan and India both ended in losses.

He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. Steven Joseph "Steve" O'Shaughnessy is a former English professional cricketer who played for Lancashire and Worcestershire in the 1980s,and then had a substantial career in Minor Counties cricket with Cumberland. Since retiring from playing,he has become an umpire,and was promoted in December 2010 to the first-class panel for the 2011 season.
Stephen Peter Perryman is a former English cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Warwickshire and Worcestershire during the 1970s and 1980s.
Victor Henry Douglas Cannings was an English cricketer,cricket coach and colonial police officer. Born in Hampshire in April 1919,Cannings joined the Palestine Police Force in 1938 and spent the Second World War in its service. After the war he secured a contract in county cricket with Warwickshire,playing first-class cricket for the county from 1947 to 1949,at which point he had fallen out of favour at Warwickshire. He was signed by Hampshire in 1950 and played first-class cricket for the county until 1959,forming a potent bowling partnership with Derek Shackleton. He took 834 wickets for Hampshire,the eighth most taken by any Hampshire player. Following his retirement,Cannings took up numerous coaching roles,most prominently at Eton College,where he spent 24 years.
