Manon Antoniazzi, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Senedd

Chief Executive and Clerk of the Senedd is a position that relates to the Senedd and the Senedd Commission. It was created in February 2007 to reflect the growing powers of the National Assembly for Wales following the Government of Wales Act 2006. Prior to this change, the Clerk of the National Assembly was a senior civil servant position and headed up the Assembly Parliamentary Service (APS).

From May 2007, the Chief Executive and Clerk has headed an organisation independent of the Welsh Government and is responsible for ensuring that the Senedd is provided with the property, staff and services that it requires.

The Senedd building is part of the Senedd estate that includes Tŷ Hywel and the Pierhead Building.

The Senedd constituencies and electoral regions are the electoral districts used to elect Members of the Senedd to the Senedd, and have been used in some form since the first election of the then National Assembly for Wales in 1999. New boundaries were introduced for the 2007 elections and currently consist of forty constituencies and five regions. The five electoral regions are: Mid and West Wales, North Wales, South Wales Central, South Wales East, and South Wales West, with the forty constituencies listed below. Voting last took place in all districts in the 2021 Senedd election, and are not used for local government.

Tŷ Hywel is a building in Cardiff, Wales, used by the Senedd. It is named after the medieval king Hywel Dda, King of Deheubarth in South West Wales. The building was previously known as Crickhowell House, after the former Secretary of State for Wales, Lord Crickhowell. It houses Members of the Senedd and their staff, as well as staff of the Senedd Commission. The Welsh Government also operates from the building and occupies one whole floor and part of another. It is leased by the Senedd under the Government of Wales Act 1998.

Sir Evan Paul Silk is a former clerk in the British House of Commons. He was formerly Clerk to the National Assembly for Wales from March 2001 to January 2007, the most senior official of the Assembly, and acted as the principal adviser to the Presiding Officer, responsible for all the services that are delivered to Assembly Members through the Assembly Parliamentary Service. In 2011, he was appointed as chair of the Commission on Devolution in Wales. In 2017 he was a member of the Expert Panel on Electoral Reform set up by the Assembly.
