Chinese Taipei competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. "Chinese Taipei" was the designated name used by Taiwan to participate in some international organizations and almost all sporting events, including the Olympic Games. Neither the common name "Taiwan" nor the official name "Republic of China" would be used primarily due to opposition from the People's Republic of China. Ki Bo-bae South Korean archer

Ki Bo-bae is a South Korean recurve archer and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She was the winner of the women's team and women's individual events at the 2012 Summer Olympics and of the women's team event again at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she also took bronze in the individual competition. Her tally of four Olympic medals places her among the most decorated archers in Olympic history.

Kuo Hsing-chun Taiwanese weightlifter

Kuo Hsing-chun is a Taiwanese Amis weightlifter, Olympic gold medalist, five time world champion, two time Universiade champion, Asian Games champion, and five time Asian champion, competing in the 58 kg division until 2018 and 59 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. She has set 11 senior world records in her career.

The Men's individual recurve was one of the events held in archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. There were two classes: a class for W1 & W2 wheelchair competitors and a class for standing archers. In the ranking round each archer shot 72 arrows; in the knockout stages each match was 12 arrows each.

Tseng Lung-hui is a Taiwanese paralympic archer. He won the bronze medal at the Men's individual recurve - W1/W2 event at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. At the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, he went on to break the Paralympic record during the ranking round at the same event.

Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics

Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held between 10 and 17 September 2016 at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí in the Maracana zone of Rio de Janeiro, and consisted of nine events. The make up of those events changed substantially from the 2012 games, and consisted of three men's events, three women's events and three events for mixed gender teams. Men, women and mixed teams each competed in two events for compound bow, one for wheelchair athletes, the other open, and an open event for recurve bow, the bow used for all Olympic events.

Lin Shih-chia is a Taiwanese competitive archer. She has won a career total of four medals in a major international competition, spanning the Summer Universiade, the World Championships, and the Summer Olympics.

Paul James Browne is an English competitive archer. Browne has competed in two Summer Paralympic Games.

The women's 79 kg powerlifting event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was contested on 12 September at Riocentro Pavilion 2. The event featured five-time Paralympian and three-time Paralympic medalist Lin Tzu-hui, competing for Chinese Taipei. The best outcome out of three attempts counted as the final results. The athlete who placed first in each event was allowed a fourth attempt to break the Paralympic or world record.

Chinese Taipei competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. At the last Games in Incheon, the country bagged a total 51 medals, including 10 gold, 18 silver, and 23 bronze. This time, Chinese Taipei is set to send a 738-strong team to compete in 36 of 40 sporting events, including 588 athletes.

The women's individual archery event is one of 5 archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It is being held at Yumenoshima Park. There are 64 competitors from 40 nations, with each nation having either 1 or 3 archers.
