Chittenango Creek is a small river in central New York, United States. [1] The creek partially forms the boundary between Onondaga County and Madison County.

The Chittenango Creek watershed comprises about 290 square miles (750 km2) of drainage in Onondaga and Madison counties. The median annual flow is estimated at about 300 cubic feet per second (8.5 m3/s).

Chittenango Creek originates in Nelson Swamp in the town of Fenner in Madison County. [2] [1] It receives the outflow for Cazenovia Lake near the village of Cazenovia. From there it flows northward, passing over a 167-foot (51 m) waterfall in Chittenango Falls State Park [3] before flowing through the village of Chittenango. The creek flows out into Oneida Lake near the community of Bridgeport.

Chittenango Falls State Park

Chittenango Falls State Park is a 193-acre (0.78 km2) state park located in Madison County, New York, east of Cazenovia Lake. The park features a 167-foot (51 m) waterfall that cascades over roughly 400-million-year-old bedrock. At the bottom of the falls Chittenango Creek flows underneath a wooden bridge. The park offers a variety of activities including picnic tables with pavilions, a playground, a nature trail, hiking, and fishing.

Area codes 315 and 680 are telephone area codes of the North American Numbering Plan for the north-central area of the U.S. state of New York. The overlay numbering plan area extends from the western side of Wayne County to Little Falls, north to the Canada–United States border, east to Massena and south to near Cortland. Most of the area's population lives in Syracuse and its suburbs. Other major population areas include Utica and Watertown. Area code 315 was one of the original area codes created in 1947. The overlay plan was created in 2017 by assigning area code 680 as the second code for the numbering plan area.

Seneca River (New York) River in Upstate New York

The Seneca River flows 61.6 miles (99.1 km) through the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York in the United States. The main tributary of the Oswego River – the second largest river flowing into Lake Ontario – the Seneca drains 3,468 square miles (8,980 km2) in parts of fourteen New York counties. Cazenovia Lake

Cazenovia Lake is a lake in Madison County, New York. It is located 20 miles (32 km) southeast of the city of Syracuse. The village of Cazenovia is located southeast of the lake.

New York State Route 13 (NY 13) is a state highway that runs mainly north–south for 152.30 miles (245.10 km) between NY 14 in Horseheads and NY 3 west of Pulaski in Central New York in the United States. In between, NY 13 intersects with Interstate 81 (I-81) in Cortland and Pulaski and meets the New York State Thruway (I-90) in Canastota. NY 13 is co-signed with several routes along its routing, most notably NY 34 and NY 96 between Newfield and Ithaca; NY 80 between DeRuyter and Cazenovia; and NY 5 between Chittenango and Canastota.

Cazenovia Creek

Cazenovia Creek is a creek in Western New York, United States. It is a tributary of the Buffalo River, which empties into Lake Erie. Cazenovia Creek and its watershed are entirely within Erie County.

The Old Erie Canal State Historic Park encompasses a 36-mile (58 km) linear segment of the original Erie Canal's Long Level section. It extends westward from Butternut Creek in the town of DeWitt, just east of Syracuse, to the outskirts of Rome, New York. The park includes restored segments of the canal's waterway and towpath which were in active use between 1825 and 1917. It is part of the New York State Park system.

New York State Route 173 (NY 173) is a state highway located in the Syracuse area of central New York in the United States. It takes a slightly bow-shaped route from NY 31 in the town of Van Buren to NY 5 in Chittenango, gently curving to the south of Downtown Syracuse in the center of its 30.59-mile (49.23 km) routing. Even so, NY 173 briefly enters the Syracuse city limits near where it intersects U.S. Route 11 (US 11). NY 173 passes through several suburbs of Syracuse, including Camillus, where it first meets NY 5, and Manlius, where it has a short overlap with NY 92.

New York State Route 92 (NY 92) is a state highway located in central New York in the United States. The western terminus of the route is at an intersection with U.S. Route 11 in downtown Syracuse. Its eastern terminus is at a junction with US 20 west of the village of Cazenovia. NY 92 is known as East Genesee Street through Syracuse and DeWitt; from DeWitt to Cazenovia, its name varies by location. It heads generally eastward through Syracuse to DeWitt, where it crosses Interstate 481 (I-481) while concurrent with NY 5. At the east end of the overlap, it splits off follows a more southeasterly routing through the village of Manlius to Cazenovia.

As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 662,577. In the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 650,154.
