Christopher Roy Robertshaw is an English-born Manx politician who served as Member of the House of Keys for Douglas East until August 2021. He previously served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Keys,Minister of Social Care,Minister for Community,Culture and Leisure and Minister for Policy and Reform. [1]
Robertshaw was born in 1948 in Chester,and is married with two children and five grandchildren.
He was schooled in a Roman Catholic seminary and served in the British Army in Libya,Cyprus,Germany,England and Norway. In 2005 he retired as Managing Director,Company Secretary and Registrar of Sefton Hotel Plc after a 35-year career in tourism. He is currently[ when? ] a director of the charity Kemmyrk and a member of the Douglas Regeneration Committee,of the Institute of Hospitality and of the Positive Action Group. [1]
In 2010,he replaced Phil Braidwood as MHK for Douglas East in a by-election,and was re-elected at the 2011 and 2016 general elections.
In 2015,he resigned as Minister for Policy and Reform after less than a year in post,to be replaced by John Shimmin. [2]
Among other issues,he has campaigned for the island's government to become a single legal entity (at present each department has its own legal identity). [3]
Following re-election in 2016,Robertshaw stated publicly that he would not contest the next election in 2021. [3]

The Manx Labour Party is a political party on the Isle of Man that was founded in 1918.
The Chief Minister is the executive head of the Isle of Man Government.
The so-called Council of Ministers is the principal executive organ of the Isle of Man Government. Its role is similar to,though not identical with,that of the Cabinet in the United Kingdom. Until 1990,its title was the Executive Council.
Allan Robert Bell is a Manx politician who was the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man,having been elected to that position on 11 October 2011. He was an Independent Member of the House of Keys for Ramsey from 1984 to September 2016,and served in several different ministerial roles. He was replaced as Chief Minister on 4 October 2016.

Robert Philip Braidwood BEng is a Manx politician,who was formerly a Member of the Legislative Council;he was previously an MHK for Douglas East after winning the Douglas East by-election in 1995 and he continued to top the poll in every General Election since then until his elevation to the Legislative Council in 2010,which sparked a by-election won by Chris Robertshaw.

The Liberal Vannin Party is a political party in the Isle of Man. It was founded in 2006 by Peter Karran,then an Independent MHK for Onchan. Karran had been,until 2004,a member of the Manx Labour Party. The "Vannin" in the party name is a form of the name of the Isle of Man in the native Manx Gaelic language,while "Liberal" is a reference to the general political position of the party. The party is currently led by Lawrie Hooper MHK.

Charles Geoffrey "Geoff" Corkish MBE MLC is a Manx politician,who is currently a Member of the House of Keys for Douglas West. He was elected at the 2006 General Election,topping the polls beating Home Affairs Minister and Chief Minister candidate John Shimmin and former MHK Geoff Cannell.
William Mackay Malarkey was a Manx politician,who was elected Liberal Vannin MHK for Douglas South but later defected from the party and sat as an independent. In the 2011 general election he lost his seat to Liberal Vannin candidate Kate Beecroft. He was re-elected at a by-election in May 2015 as an independent candidate,and retained his seat for Douglas South in September 2016.
Geoffrey Boot is an English-born politician who until 2021 served as a Member of the House of Keys for Glenfaba and Peel. Before moving to the Isle of Man,Boot also served as a Conservative Councillor and Mayor for Sandgate in Kent.
