Christian Efobi is an Anglican bishop in Nigeria. [1]
Efobi was born in Kaduna in 1948. He was educated at Anglican Boys Grammar School, Akwukwu-Igbo; New Bethel College Onitsha and The Theological College of Northern Nigeria, Bukuru. He was ordained Deacon in July 1977 and Priest in December 1977. He served in Lafia.Bukuru and Yola. he became Archdeacon of Yola in 1988 and Bishop of Yola in 1990. He was translated to be the inaugural Bishop of Aguata in 2005. Efobi retired in 2018. He became the second Archbishop of Niger. [2]

The Church of Nigeria is the Anglican church in Nigeria. It is the second-largest province in the Anglican Communion, as measured by baptized membership, after the Church of England. It gives its current membership as "over 18 million", out of a total Nigerian population of 190 million.

Yola, meaning 'Great Plain' or 'Vast Plain Land', is the largest city, capital city and administrative center of Adamawa State, Nigeria. Located on the Benue River, it has a population of 336,648 (2010). Yola is split into two parts. The old town of Yola where the Lamido resides is the traditional city but the new city of Jimeta is the administrative and commercial centre. Generally the term Yola is now used to mean both. To the north are the Mandara Mountains and to the south are the Shebshi Mountains with Dimlang (Vogel) Peak the second highest point in Nigeria after Chappal Waddi. Adamawa is a state in northeastern Nigeria, whose capital and largest city is Yola. In 1991, when Taraba State was carved out from Gongola State, the geographical entity Gongola State was renamed Adamawa State, with four administrative divisions: Adamawa, Michika, Ganye, Mubi and Numan. It is one of the thirty-six states that constitute the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He served one term and handed over to Benjamin Kwashi (2008-2017) also the Bishop of Jos.). Archbishop Kwashi handed over to Archbishop Henry Ndukuba who served from 2017 to 2020. The current archbishop is Markus Ibrahim who is also the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Yola. On March 25, 2020, Archbishop Ndukuba took over as the Primate of All Nigeria.
