Chromosome 6 open reading frame 203 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C6orf203 gene. [5]
C6orf203 protein is reported to be localised to the mitochondria of eukaryotes and possess an evolutionarily conserved RNA-binding domain. [6] [7]
One study propose C6orf203 to associate with mitochondrial RNA polymerase (POLRMT) and increase mitochondrial transcription to protect the cell from mitochondrial RNA loss during stress. [7] However, another study propose C6orf203 to associate with the mitoribosomal large subunit and regulate mitochondrial translation. [6]
High-mobility group protein HMG-I/HMG-Y is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HMGA1 gene.
Nuclear respiratory factor 1, also known as Nrf1, Nrf-1, NRF1 and NRF-1, encodes a protein that homodimerizes and functions as a transcription factor which activates the expression of some key metabolic genes regulating cellular growth and nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. The protein has also been associated with the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, which encode the same protein, have been characterized. Additional variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described but they have not been fully characterized. Confusion has occurred in bibliographic databases due to the shared symbol of NRF1 for this gene and for "nuclear factor -like 1" which has an official symbol of NFE2L1.
Transcription factor SOX-6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SOX6 gene.
Transcription factor IIIA is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GTF3A gene.
Serrate RNA effector molecule homolog (SRRT) also known as arsenite-resistance protein 2 (ARS2) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SRRT gene.
Mitochondrial transcription termination factor 1, also known as MTERF1, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the MTERF gene.
Transcription factor SOX-8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SOX8 gene.
Zinc finger protein 143 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ZNF143 gene.
RNA-binding motif, single-stranded-interacting protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RBMS1 gene.
Zinc finger protein 239 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ZNF239 gene.
Probable histidyl-tRNA synthetase, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the HARS2 gene.
39S ribosomal protein L10, mitochondrial is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MRPL10 gene.
Mitochondrial ribosomal protein L3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MRPL3 gene.
PrimPol is a protein encoded by the PRIMPOL gene in humans. PrimPol is a eukaryotic protein with both DNA polymerase and DNA Primase activities involved in translesion DNA synthesis. It is the first eukaryotic protein to be identified with priming activity using deoxyribonucleotides. It is also the first protein identified in the mitochondria to have translesion DNA synthesis activities.
Chromosome 9 open reading frame 152 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C9orf152 gene. The exact function of the protein is not completely understood.
Uncharacterized protein C2orf73 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C2orf73 gene. The protein is predicted to be localized to the nucleus.
Chromosome 1 open reading frame 112, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C1orf112 gene, and is located at position 1q24.2. C1orf112 encodes for seventeen variants of mRNA, fifteen of which are functional proteins. C1orf112 has a determined precursor molecular weight of 96.6 kDa and an isoelectric point of 5.62. C1orf112 has been experimentally determined to localize to the mitochondria, although it does not contain a mitochondrial targeting sequence.
PIF1 5'-to-3' DNA helicase is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PIF1 gene.
Chromosome 1 open reading frame 198 (C1orf198) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C1orf198 gene. This particular gene does not have any paralogs in Homo sapiens, but many orthologs have been found throughout the Eukarya domain. C1orf198 has high levels of expression in all tissues throughout the human body, but is most highly expressed in lung, brain, and spinal cord tissues. Its function is most likely involved in lung development and hypoxia-associated events in the mitochondria, which are major consumers of oxygen in cells and are severely affected by decreases in available cellular oxygen.
PBX/Knotted 1 Homeobox 2 (PKNOX2) protein belongs to the three amino acid loop extension (TALE) class of homeodomain proteins, and is encoded by PKNOX2 gene in humans. The protein regulates the transcription of other genes and affects anatomical development.
