Kokkola is a town and municipality of Finland. The town is located in the Central Ostrobothnia region. The town has a population of 48,027 and covers an area of 2,730.80 square kilometres (1,054.37 sq mi) of which 1,286.61 km2 (496.76 sq mi) is water. The population density is 33.26 inhabitants per square kilometre (86.1/sq mi). Neighbour municipalities are Halsua, Kalajoki, Kannus, Kaustinen, Kronoby, Lestijärvi, Larsmo and Toholampi.

The Concerto for Two Accordions, Strings and Percussion, Op. 115 by Aulis Sallinen was written in 2019. It was commissioned by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, which premiered it under Anna-Maria Helsing on February 14, 2020 in the 22nd Kokkola Winter Accordion Festival, with soloists Sonja Vertainen and Janne Valkeajoki. The work consists of two movements, titled Duo Concertante I and Duo Concertante II, and lasts about 20 minutes.
Torikeskus is a shopping mall located in the center of Seinäjoki, Finland and it's the largest commercial centre in the South Ostrobothnia region. It was established in 1992 and renewed in 2007, 2009 and 2011–12. Torikeskus was previously owned by Citycon, which sold it in late 2013 to a local investor.
