Vuosaari is a neighbourhood in the City of Helsinki, Finland. It is located by the sea in East Helsinki and with its area of 15.38 km2 (5.94 sq mi) is geographically the largest district in the city. It also has two Helsinki Metro stations, Rastila and Vuosaari
Hakaniemi is an unofficial district of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It covers most of the neighbourhood of Siltasaari in the district of Kallio. Hakaniemi is located at the sea shore and is separated from the city centre by the Siltavuorensalmi strait and from the district of Linjat by the street Hämeentie. Historically, Hakaniemi was often associated with the working class and workers' associations. However, the cost of living has risen considerably in recent years and is now on par with that of the rest of central Helsinki.
Ruoholahti is a quarter in Helsinki, part of the Länsisatama neighbourhood and Kampinmalmi district. It is located in the southwestern part of the central city area of Helsinki, close to the Lauttasaari island, and it functions as the principal connection between the Helsinki city centre and the city of Espoo to the west. As of 2005 Ruoholahti is inhabited by approx. 3300 people. The Länsisatama port is also situated in Ruoholahti.
Lauttasaari is an island in Helsinki, Finland, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west of the city centre. Together with some surrounding unpopulated small islands, Lauttasaari is also a district of Helsinki. With 23,226 residents as of 2017, the island is Finland's second largest by population, after Fasta Åland. Its land area is 3.85 km2.
Ruoholahti metro station is a station on the Helsinki Metro. There are 72 bicycle and 140 car parking spaces at Ruoholahti. It serves the district of Ruoholahti in central Helsinki. Ruoholahti is served by both lines M1 and M2. It was the western endpoint of the metropolitan line for over 24 years until the 1st phase of the western phase was completed and the undergrounds of Matinkylä started on 18 November 2017.
Itäkeskus is a quarter in the neighbourhood of Vartiokylä in Helsinki, Finland. The district's main attraction is the largest covered-in shopping mall in the Nordic countries, Itis, which make Itäkeskus as the most significant commercial center of East Helsinki. The district has a station on the Helsinki Metro, whose eastern entrance at the Tallinnanaukio square leads to the shopping centre. Itäkeskus has the eastern terminus of bus lines 500 and 550; the western terminus of line 500 is Munkkivuori and line 550 is Espoo's Westend bus station. Construction of the Jokeri light rail, which replaces bus line 550, began in 2019 and traffic is scheduled to begin in 2024. The most important road connection to the Helsinki central from Itäkeskus runs along Itäväylä.
Länsiväylä is a motorway in the Greater Helsinki area of Finland, mainly at the Helsinki conurbation. It is part of the Finnish national road 51. The road begins in Ruoholahti in western Helsinki and continues west through the island of Lauttasaari and then across the city border to Espoo. The Länsiväylä road continues all the way throughout the southern part of Espoo. It continues as a motorway until finally crossing the border west to Kirkkonummi.
Sello is a shopping mall in the Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland. The mall contains more than 170 shops and services including a concert hall and a library. The largest stores in the shopping center are Prisma, K-Citymarket, Power, Tokmanni, Halonen, H&M, and Intersport Megastore.
Tampere Central Station is a functionalist building in Tampere, Finland, designed by Eero Seppälä and Otto Flodin, completed in 1936. The station is one of the most important railway stations in Finland. In 2015, the Tampere Central Station was the second busiest railway station in Finland in terms of numbers of passengers, after the Helsinki Central Station.
Stockmann Helsinki Centre is a culturally significant business building and department store located in the centre of Helsinki, Finland. It is one of many department stores owned by the Stockmann corporation. It is the largest department store in the Nordic countries in terms of area and total sales. The store is known for carrying all the internationally recognised luxury brands, and Stockmann's enjoys a reputation as the primary high-end department store in Finland. Stockmann Delicatessen, the food and beverage department located at the basement level, is renowned for the quality and choice of its foodstuffs. The Stockmann logo represents a set of escalators, which are commonly, but wrongly believed represent the first escalators in Finland. The first escalators in Finland were installed in the Forum department store, Turku (1926).
Leppävaara is a district of Espoo, a city in Finland. The Rantarata rail line and the Ring Road I, the busiest road in Finland, cross in Leppävaara, thus making it a major traffic hub in the Greater Helsinki region. The Sello Shopping Centre is also located in Leppävaara.
Jätkäsaari is a peninsula and a quarter in Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. It is part to the Kampinmalmi district and Länsisatama neighbourhood. It was the site of the main container harbour in Helsinki until late 2008, when the harbour moved to the new facilities in Vuosaari. The terminals for passenger ferries to Tallinn and Saint Petersburg remain in Jätkäsaari at the West Harbour.
Munkkivuori is a quarter of the Munkkiniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki. The buildings and the plan of site are typical of the late 1950s. Most of the residential buildings in Munkkivuori are within a loop formed by Ulvilantie ring road. The automotive traffic to the residential buildings is routed along Ulvilantie whereas Raumantie no through road terminating in the center of the Ulvilantie loop provides access to public services and limits the through-traffic in residential areas. A designed network of crushed stone walkways provides easy accessibility around Munkkivuori for cyclists, pedestrians and other non-automotive traffic.
Kannelmäki is a sub-neighbourhood of the neighbourhood of Kaarela in Helsinki, Finland. Kannelmäki is located a bit more than ten kilometres from the centre of Helsinki, and is bounded by Kehä I in the south, Hämeenlinnanväylä in the east, and the Mätäjoki river in the west and north. It is a part of the Western major district. In early 2006, Kannelmäki had 12 488 inhabitants.
Ainoa is a shopping centre located in Tapiola, Espoo, Finland. Its first phase was opened on 24 October 2013 in a 1979 building that housed the Tapiola Sokos department house until 2011. During the renovation, the building was extended both upwards and downwards.
Lauttis is a shopping centre in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, Finland. It was opened on 1 December 2016.
Easton Helsinki is a shopping centre in Itäkeskus, Helsinki, Finland. It is connected to the Itis shopping centre through the Hansasilta bridge. Easton Helsinki is built in phases, and its first part was opened on 26 October 2017. There is an option to expand the shopping centre by building a second part, but no decision of building it has been made yet.
Arabia is a shopping centre located in the Arabianranta district of Helsinki, Finland. From 2015 to 2019 it was owned by Citycon. In June 2019 Citycon sold the shopping centre to the Nordic building investor company NREP. The shopping centre was opened in 2002 in industrial buildings left empty by Kotisaari and Ingman.
Columbus is a shopping centre in Vuosaari, Helsinki, Finland, right next to the Vuosaari metro station. It is owned by Citycon. The centre was completed in August 1996. The centre has a total surface area of over 20,000 m2 (220,000 sq ft).
Skanssi is a shopping center located in the Skanssi district of Turku, Finland. It is located along Highway 1 (E18) near the Kaarina town and the distance to the center of Turku is about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi). The shopping center was inaugurated on April 17, 2009, and it is the second largest shopping center in the Turku region.
