Cities in Motion 2 is a 2013 business simulation game that was developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive and is the sequel to the popular mass transit simulation game Cities in Motion . [1] As with its predecessor, the goal of the game is to create efficient public transport systems in different major cities of the world. In this edition, there are several new features that the developers introduced based on community feedback about the previous game, including day/night cycles, rush hours and the ability to create timetables. The additions also include dynamic cities where players' decisions have a notable impact on city growth, and the inclusion of cooperative and competitive multi-player. [3] The developer of Cities in Motion 2, Colossal Order, also developed Cities: Skylines , which is also a city building game with a mass transit system.
Gameplay of Cities in Motion 2 is similar to that of its previous game Cities In Motion. The player is required to place depots around the map of which routes will run out of and end in. Routes can either be circular or run in an A-B fashion but they must always start and end at a depot. Depots have a maximum number of vehicles held inside before another vehicle has to wait in a queue until another vehicle leaves the depot and makes space for it. More vehicles can be stored in a single depot and vehicles can hold more people and be cheaper through the use of a user created ruleset which can be created or modified in an in-game ruleset editor.
The game has an extensive scenario with many missions spanning all in-game maps and custom scenarios can be created or modified using the in-game Scenario Editor. The game also has a built-in Map Editor. All custom Rulesets, Scenarios and maps can be shared via the Steam Workshop.

Cites in Motion 2 received mixed reviews. It holds a Metacritic score of 72 (based on 15 reviews), with many critics citing the game's lack of a smooth interface and steep learning curve as the two biggest problems. [5]
Freeciv is a single- and multiplayer turn-based strategy game for workstations and personal computers inspired by the proprietary Sid Meier's Civilization series. It is available for most desktop computer operating systems and available in an online browser version. Released under the GNU GPL-2.0-or-later, Freeciv is free and open-source software. The game's default settings are closest to Civilization II, in both gameplay and graphics, including the units and the isometric grid. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is a 2004 construction and management simulation video game. Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim is a real-time strategy video game developed by Cyberlore Studios, and published by Hasbro Interactive under the MicroProse brand name for Windows in March 2000. The game is not a simulator; that part of the title is a witticism, a reference to the game's adherence to fantasy and fantasy role-playing game cliches. In Majesty, players assume the role of king in a fantasy realm called Ardania which features city sewers infested with giant rats, landscapes dotted with ancient evil castles, and soldiers helpless against anything bigger than a goblin. As Sovereign, the player must rely on hiring bands of wandering heroes in order to get anything done. In a major divergence from most real-time strategy games, the player does not have direct control over their units.
Sid Meier's Railroads! is a business simulation game developed by Firaxis Games on the Gamebryo game engine that was released in October 2006 and is the sequel to Railroad Tycoon 3. Although Sid Meier created the original Railroad Tycoon, subsequent versions were developed by PopTop Software. Railroads! was the first game in the series since the original to have direct input from Sid Meier himself. After a visit to Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany, Meier was inspired to reinvent his original creation. A version for the Mac OS X was published by Feral Interactive on November 1, 2012, under the latter's Feral Legends label. A mobile version was released in April 2023.

War of the Roses was well received for its extensive customisation enabling character configurations to be tailored to very specific tastes and for its original "control scheme to tackle a new kind of combat with the aim of creating a completely different experience". The game shut down on 28 February 2017.

Players engage in urban planning by controlling zoning, road placement, taxation, public services, and public transportation of an area. They also work to manage various elements of the city, including its budget, health, employment, traffic, and pollution levels. It is also possible to maintain a city in a sandbox mode, which provides more creative freedom for the player.
