Scandal'us were the winners of the Australian Popstars 2 in 2001. They won an ARIA chart award for their No. 1 debut single "Me, Myself & I". Their second and final single, "Make Me Crazy", only reached No. 30. Their debut album, Startin' Somethin', debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The group disbanded in 2002, having been unable to find a new record label after leaving Festival Mushroom Records.
Tamara Jaber is an Australian recording artist who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a winner on the Hit TV Show Pop stars. She was a member of the pop group Scandal'us. Following the disbandment of Scandal'us in 2002, Jaber signed to record label King Kyle Records and released two solo singles "Ooh Ahh" and "Hard for Me". In 2007, she became a member of the pop duo Scarlett Belle, before resuming her solo career in 2011. Jaber released her debut extended play Felt, Not Heard through US independent label in November 2012.

Reigan Elisse Derry, also known mononymously as Reigan, is an Australian singer and songwriter. Derry rose to fame after placing eleventh on the fourth season of Australian Idol in 2006. The following year, she became a member of the Australian pop duo Scarlett Belle, who disbanded in 2011. Three years later, Derry placed fourth on the sixth season of The X Factor Australia. She subsequently received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia and released her debut extended play, All of the Pieces, in December 2014. Currently Reigan works as a club singer for various agencies in Sydney and the Gold Coast.
Sunnyboys are an Australian power pop band formed in Sydney in 1979. Fronted by singer-songwriter, guitarist Jeremy Oxley, the band "breathed some freshness and vitality into the divergent Sydney scene". Their first two albums, Sunnyboys and Individuals both appeared in the Top 30 of the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart.
American pop rock band OneRepublic has released five studio albums, one live album, six extended plays, 32 singles, 10 promotional singles, and 28 music videos. Formed in 2002, OneRepublic first found commercial recognition when their song "Apologize" was released onto Myspace in 2005 and they subsequently became the biggest act on that site. It was remixed by American record producer Timbaland, appearing on his album Shock Value. Released as a single in 2007, the song topped the charts in multiple countries, including Australia and Canada, while also reaching the top three in the United States and the United Kingdom. It has since sold over 3.6 million digital downloads in the United States. The band's debut studio album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in November 2007. Scarlett Belle was an Australian pop duo formed in 2007, that initially consisted of Tamara Jaber, Reigan Derry and Hayley Aitken. Aitken left the group in 2008, leaving them as a duo. Scarlett Belle's debut single "Closure" was released in June 2010, and peaked in the top forty on the ARIA Singles Chart. Their second single "Freak Tonight" became a top thirty hit. In 2011, Scarlett Belle disbanded to pursue their solo careers.

The X Factor was an Australian television reality music competition, based on the original UK series, to find new singing talent; the winner of which received a Sony Music Australia recording contract. The sixth season premiered on the Seven Network on 13 July 2014 and ended on 20 October 2014. Luke Jacobz returned as host, while Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dannii Minogue and Redfoo returned as judges. Comedy duo Luke & Wyatt joined the sixth season as the hosts of the online spin-off show The Fan Factor. The winner was Marlisa Punzalan and her winner's single "Stand by You" was released after the final. Punzalan became the youngest winner of the show at 15 years old and was the first contestant from the Girls category to do so. She was mentored by Keating, who won as mentor for the second time after previously mentoring season two winner Altiyan Childs in 2010.

"All of the Pieces" was released to Australian radio on 27 November 2014 as the lead single from Derry's first extended play of the same name. Musically, "All of the Pieces" is a mid-tempo alternative pop ballad with folk influences. "Feels Like Heaven" is a mid-tempo pop track, which contains elements of indie music and uses synth beats, harmonies and a guitar as its instrumentation. Lyrically, the song talks about the heavenly feeling a person receives from someone they love.
