Cole Douglas Young (born July 29,2003) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Seattle Mariners organization.
Young was raised in Wexford,Pennsylvania. [1] In 2014,he won Major League Baseball’s national Pitch,Hit &Run competition for the 9-10-year-old division. [2] Young attended North Allegheny High School. [3] His sophomore season was canceled due to COVID-19. [4] As a junior,Young batted .437 with 33 runs scored,23 RBIs and 14 extra-base hits. [5] Following the season,Young played in the Major League Baseball and USA Baseball High School All-American Game at Coors Field during the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Weekend. [6] He committed to play college baseball at Duke as a freshman in high school. [7]
Young was considered a top prospect for the 2022 Major League Baseball draft. [8] The Seattle Mariners selected Young in the first round of the draft,with the 21st overall selection. [9] He signed with the Mariners on July 26,2022,and received a $3.3 million signing bonus. [10]

Gordon Craig Reynolds is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop who was an inaugural member of the Seattle Mariners. He began his professional career in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and played for over a decade with the Houston Astros. Reynolds batted left-handed and threw right.

The 1987 Major League Baseball draft is the process by which Major League Baseball (MLB) teams select athletes to play for their organization. High school seniors,college juniors and seniors,and anyone who had never played under a professional contract were considered eligible for the draft. Gerrit Alan Cole is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros.
