Collin Schlee (born May 30, 2001) is an American college football quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies. He previously played for the Kent State Golden Flashes and the UCLA Bruins.

Early life

Schlee grew up in Ijamsville, Maryland and attended Oakdale High School, where he played football and basketball. [1] He passed for 1,503 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior. [2] Schlee committed to play college football at Kent State. [3]

College career

Kent State

Schlee redshirted his true freshman season with the Kent State Golden Flashes. He spent his redshirt freshman season as the backup to starter Dustin Crum. [4] Schlee continued as Crum's backup as a redshirt sophomore and played in ten games, 17-of-24 pass attempts for 238 yards and one touchdown and also rushing for 127 yards and three touchdowns. [5] He was named the Golden Flashes' starting quarterback entering his redshirt junior season. Schlee completed 157-of-266 passes for 2,109 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions while also rushing for 489 yards and four touchdowns. [6] Following the end of the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal. [7]

UCLA

Schlee ultimately transferred to UCLA. [8]

On April 4, 2024, Schlee announced that he would enter the transfer portal for the second time. [9]

Virginia Tech

On April 30, 2024, Schlee announced that he would transfer to Virginia Tech. [10]

Longtime play-by-play voice of Virginia Tech Hokies football and men's basketball from 1988 to 2015 and again starting in 2022 for Hokies Football, Roth also served as an announcer for the Richmond Braves from 1993–96, and spent 2015-16 with the UCLA Bruins before joining ESPN in 2016.

The game started at 12:00 noon MST, and was televised on CBS and heard on the Sports USA Radio Network. It was one of the 2013–14 bowl games that concluded the 2013 FBS football season. The game was sponsored by the Hyundai Motor Company and was officially known as the Hyundai Sun Bowl. UCLA defeated Virginia Tech 42-12 for the Sun Bowl Championship.

Robert Wilton Speight III is a former American football quarterback. He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines and UCLA. In high school, he was a 2014 Under Armour All-America Game selection and subsequently committed to play in college for Michigan. Speight redshirted in 2014 and was the backup quarterback in 2015. As a redshirt sophomore in 2016, he started 12 games and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors. In 2017, Speight started four games before suffering a season-ending injury. In April 2018, Speight transferred to UCLA for his final season of eligibility.
